Mattel Imaginext VS New Hasbro Heroes

IMHO, Super Hero Squad, Robot Heroes, and Galactic Heroes by Hasbro are not as cool as Imaginext. Imaginext are small scale figures aimed at kids with consistent articulation. Meanwhile the aforementioned figures by Hasbro are pre-posed with different kinds of articulation.

This summer or fall, Hasbro is going in a new direction, with a format similar to Imaginext. I just might bite! The Star Wars figures for one thing, benefit a lot from this, as the sculpts are not as chubby, and overall the line seems like it might be more fun.

I may even pick up some Imaginext figures to have some Marvel VS DC wars. I'm not gonna lie, many a time have I passed by Imaginext figures and considered buying them!

Sure. They're everywhere. Superhero Squad even has a cartoon and a video game or two based on it. And they take up a pretty good chunk of space at every toy retailer. Transformers has ended, but Marvel and Star Wars still continue.

Back to the topic, I think the difference is Hasbro's heroes are intended for the adult collector who everyone assumes puts things on a shelf to never ever touch again, even though the line is marketed as a kiddie line. While the Imaginext line genuinely is ment to be played with by little kids.
I mean seriously, there's absolutely no use for the Heroes stuff beyond looking cute. They're non posable, there are no accessories, there are only a handful of vehicles. They're really pretty much too small to be useful toys for small kids, as well. I know when I was little I would have completely ignored them, and wanted a real spiderman instead (real, as in one that's actually a toy). The imaginext line are just that. Real toys.

That's the thing though, the new Hasbro Adventure Heroes, like Marvel Adventure Heroes, are pretty much on par, articulation wise, with Mattel's Imaginext.

Really? I haven't hard of these yet! I thought you were talking about the robot/galactic/super hero squad stuff.

This is rather exciting, then!

EDIT- Rereading your original post, you stated everything plain as day. I guess I'm just thick. :D
:o

If these are the figures I'm thinking of the superhero squad that has it's own tv show and they come in 2pack figure format, and are about 2 inches tall , solid rubber and don't move or do shit all then yeh I know what you mean and they're garbage.. I wouldn't waste money on them.. like just about everything hasbro releases there's variants and hard to find versions which do sell for some big $$ on ebay.. but I wouldn't even get into them for that purpose in mind.. reminds me of toys from mexico except painted better.

I'd be all for it. My daughter loves to play with the Imaginext stuff whenever we go shopping, so it might be fun to pick up a couple of Marvel/Star Wars figures/playsets for her.

Besides, it will give her something to fight the red dragon Imaginext I got her a couple years ago.

Sym was referring to the new line of Hasbro Heroes toys, not the old Heroes stuff. ;)
