Fabulous looking toy. Price kills me as well, naturally. I wish he'd turned out as big as Convoy and Megs in robot mode, but ah well. I'll still get one eventually.

He looks Fantastic. I love the Apron and tray of drinks. Takara really packs in some nice extras. I wonder if he is going to get a release here in the states?

He almost assuredly will, Hasbro has been hinting for some time in their Q&A sessions. But the question is, will the US release be nicer, as with MP Starscream, or neutered, as with Prime? I chose not to take the chance and pay over 3x what the US version would cost. :)

When Prime came out I waited and wound up getting the 1st US release off a message board for $35 so I can't complain about the shorter smokestacks. Then I bought the Takara Starscream even though I wasn't crazy about the colors. Luckily the US version rocked, so I got that too.

I'll wait and see with Grimlock, if he is released here, looks decent and is a decent price I'll be satisfied to own him. If not I'm sure sometime down the road I can get the import version as it seems Takara usually goes back into production on the mp's a few times.

Also does he come with the Brain transfer helmet? If so pic please :)

I bought both, too. :) But I thought the US version was cheaper and better, strangely.

The first US release of MP Prime had chrome and battle damage, the DVD edition did not have chrome.

I have a strong feeling he will, I don't see why they would scrap the accessories, too bad he doesn't have a crown.

yeah, if the US one isn't up to par, he will get re released in Japan if you're patient. I can almost say you can count on it, I mean, they have even re released MP Magus already lol

And isn't Grimlock very popular in Japan?

I gotta admit that it is killing me not to have it, but at the same time, I really can't justify the expense with no bonuses anymore. That was an extra $500 a month, if I still had that, I'd likely be all over this.

If anything would convince me to spring for the Japanese release right now it would be this shot:

Im guessing the US release will cost around 70-80. However I have no idea how different he will be than the Takara one. We'll wait and see I guess.
