TRU Exclusive Jurassic Park 2009!

So, it's finally confirmed. We have a new Jurassic Park toy line to drool over! Steve, ActionFigs.com Editor-In-Chief, recently got his hands over two publicity shots, both loose and packaged of the first Dino Battlers two-pack: Triceratops vs. Tyrannosaurus Rex. You can see both pictures over here: ActionFigs.com - For Collectors, By Collectors. - Hasbro Jurassic Park Dino Battlers Toys"R"Us Exclusive.

So, yes, they're indeed JP3 toys repaints, but we've got to admit that the new packaging is definitely striking, and much better than the last JP: Dinosaurs lines. It's very clear that Hasbro has put some time over this new line, so let's hope the rest won't disappoint!
The full toyline, apparently exclusive to Toys'R'Us, is rumored to include an assortment of dinosaur two-packs based on the Jurassic Park 3 hatchlings (as seen above), electronic dinosaurs, two-packs with a human figure and a dinosaur, and a Deluxe Electronic T-Rex, according to an earlier report from JPToys.

Pass. Now, if they made a fully-poseable Raptor in scale with the Joes...

Cool. I had a good long Dinosaur phase as a child, and still have a certain amount of interest in them to this day. It's nice to see these, but there's one huge downfall, imo. The fact that the entire line is a TRU exclusive. I just honestly can't stand going there anymore, and it's far away enough that I really don't see the point in even trying to go and find something. Especially if it's an exclusive to them. Now, if the line had been a Target exclusive, I would definitely get at least a couple of things. Target is where I go to get most of my Transformers (sometimes K-mart, but most often Target). I also don't shop at Walshit anymore at all. Oh well...I may break down and go to TRU if some of this stuff really looks good. The electronic T-rex should be interesting to see.

I know such a thing can't be a goal of this line, but that is an awesome idea.

One of the best parts of being a TRU exclusive line is that it has much better odds of appearing online than any other store exclusive. Kmart's usually do, but they rarely get exclusives anyway. Wal-Mart's sell out far too often, and Target's are usually listed but only sometimes available to order. Compare all the Animated exclusives at Target to Countdown and Darkwind.

I'm still eager to hear some more about this line, and what figures we may get. But if we get the juvenile T. rex with broken leg one more time, I think I'll snap. :)
