Marvel Universe Spiderman TIME'S UP

Yeah. No more Marvel Universe Spiderman for me until we get one with:
  • thigh swivels
  • new ankle joint like on Bleeding Edge Iron Man
Why? Grown tired of the Black Costume Spiderman mold. Hope it's retired soon. It was cool for Iron Fist and a few others but it's run its course. For Spiderman especially.

The fact that Iron Man can move better than him...for a figure that's...surprising.

Scarlet Spider seems like a retooled black Spiderman WITH thigh swivels...probably will bite because I liked Reilly as Scarlet Spider...gave him his own identity..HATED the clone storyline(about the ONLY good thing to come out of One More Freaking Day was to get that Clone Sage RETCONNED OUT!), but liked Scarlet Spider. Weird? Yea but whatever.

Thigh swivel should be mandatory for a Spiderman figure. Those Bleeding ankles? Hell yea those and thigh swivels should be mandatory on ALL upcoming Marvel Universe figures!

It's a way to show progression and keep things fresh. Besides, Spidey deserves better than what he's been getting. His own line has villain figures which far outshine his. In Marvel Universe he is not one of the top tier figures.

This is SPIDERMAN. We need better figures!

Ha, I told you the BA IM basically was what Spidey should be: articulated outta the wazoo.

I'm waiting for a comic book styled version of that SDCC exclusive Spidey.

Snowflakian 03-31-2011 01:19 PM

I'm done with spidey unless they start doing his actual alternate suits or identities.

I'm tired of classic spidey, and have way too many of him when I never bought a single carded spidey ever.

Instead, I want more like they are starting to do.
Ben Reilly Spider-Man, Check.
Spidey 2099, check.
Scarlet Spider, Check
Iron Spider, Check.

Now just fill out the rest of the spidey slots with stuff like:
Ricochet
Prodigy
Dusk
Hornet
Noir Spider-Man
New neon Spidey
etc.

While they are at it, please toss a fear itself tron Juggernaut into the mix too!

Funny this thread should come up on the day I buy another "normal" Spiderman. Got the Target exclusive 2 pack with Green Goblin...for $3.24! I bought 3 out of the 4 sets as they didn't have the Wolverine pack. Not sure if it's just my Target or if it's all stores. Helluva deal for 2 MU figs.

Is there a "sightings" thread for this sort of thing?

I know the 2 packs your talking about , I said fuck the spiderman vs goblin was as they were retail price $12.99 or something.. I snagged 3 of the wolverine packs instead, to get 3 awesome black hand ninjas, 1 wolverine and 2 to mod... 1 is going to become a predator figure soon enough muhahah.

cellardoor 04-01-2011 05:26 AM

Hands down the best Spidey i've encountered is the Comic-pack figure in with Sentry.
It's essentially a repaint of the black costume mold but the one I grabbed has flawless paint apps. It just looks right next to the other figures.

Badrumble 04-01-2011 08:19 AM

I doubt Spidermans time is up...Its quite apparent that there's a "tardy market" if you will, that is buying these still..and many other old geezer MU's...as for the toys looks and movement, Hasbro R&D has thier scope pinpointed on kids..do you really think they'd make this stuff too complicated ?...lol - I hear your point tho..

Prem1x 04-01-2011 02:23 PM

Agreed. Spider-Man needs a new sculpt with artic on par with BE-IM. And a new web accessory.

The Cap. Brit. 2-pack will have Spidey with thigh cuts. Though same ankles and he won't be able to look up while climbing walls.

MasterSock 04-01-2011 06:06 PM

They need to give all MU figure the same super bad ass articulation that the SDCC Spider man has!
