Thor Movie Wave 2 Loose

Awesome! I really hope these hit around movie time.
As far as movie-specific lines go, Thor's has been one of the best in recent memory. Sure a comic-inspired line would've been epic, but that doesn't change my enjoyment of these. |
Besides King Loki and the Destroyer armor, the Thor line doesn't have many wants for me, even though they are fantastic figures. These pics just give me more reason for me to want Hasbro to do a unique fantasy-type line of figures.
But I would definetly more enjoy a comic-based wave of Thor figs. The Cap and Iron Man have them, so I'll bet Thor will be next. |
These things need more paint apps to pop out more of the detail. I've seen the wave 1 figures in person at the stores, and they look cheap. A figure like Odin might be a gem with the right paint apps.

Hopefully if anything, there will be an Avengers Comic line next year and they can sneak some Thor characters in there. I really have been wanting a Thunderstrike, Eric Masterson Thor and Beta Ray Bill. |
Verily, the Odinson hath found his hat!
This will probably be the first and only version of Movie Thor figure I buy. Still looking to pick up Loki and the GB Frost Giant, though. |

I'm a completest with the MU line, but for the movies I just score a few essentials.(And the entire comic line where applicable.) By the way if you haven't seen these in person yet, they are NOT nice. 100% on par with the Wolverine movie line but hey, what are you gonna do?
|
Ive seen them in person and their not bad and in all honesty the pics really dont do them justice. but I feel by far the best line to come out and still is going in the Iron Man 2 lines I love the figures and Im still collecting them!
|
Actually I picked up the Loki figure recently and he's not half-bad. The giant sword gimmick is not nearly as intrusive as the others, based on pics I've seen. And I like the idea of bladed tonfas anyway. Also, his daggers are nice, with two different molds and patterns to them (and Loki can hold them without looking ridiculous!). Mold has decent articulation and his skirt has slits that allow his legs to move fairly easily. But he does have the IM2 hips, unfortunately. At least they weren't locked up like a lot of IM2 figures were.
Also, Loki being a shape-shifter and a trickster means he can look however he pleases and it would still be true to the comic. Just look at what he did to Deadpool. Hell, Loki was a woman for a while. |
