Hong Kong scalpers?

OK, I'm going with the assumption that Hasbro/ Marvel is made in China. That's a pretty safe bet.

Now a month and a half ago, the first 7-10 Gigantic Battles that showed up on ebay were ALL Hong Kong. Yet this time around, for the Giant X-Men box set, they seem to all be in California?

So I guessing I'm a bit confused that if they are manufactured in the same plant(s)...how is it that I had not seen one from Hong Kong?

(Strictly a topic for discussion, I would never purchase from Hong Kong.)

Any thoughts?

I think these dudes are dumpster diving at hasbro hongkong.. if you notice they sell unpainted/prototypes as well and most of the completed figs lack accessories of any kind. As for the x men set.. it just genuinely hit toys R us on the west coast first, should see it in the east 2 weeks or so from that time? I am looking for it.

I bought my mandarin that way- nothing but the fig. That's great by me- I dont care about some silly helmet or sword that's never been part of the character's gear.

Plus, it was $14 nad another $4 in shipping- it arrived a week later.

Can I tell you how happy I was to win that auction? In-Sanely.

If these guys are "scalping" they're doing it really really cheap!

In my eyes if a person who is struggling to feed his family finds an action figure that was tossed out and sells it online for a few bucks to a guy who has the cash to afford it, then good for him/her.

I agree, no problem with this at all. I guess its not really right to refer to them as scalpers. I wonder too if it's maybe factory workers pocketing defective toys?

I could see that going on..

usually HKG will take some stuff from China, its not difficult people frm HKG go to CHINA and bring back some stuff that not release yet. but all of them are not in good condition, if there's the stuff in good condition and it will be few/rare of them to see
