Possible MU custom ideas
I think there is tons of potential out here in this line
If you have any then post what custom recipes do you have or if you have any customs & please post some pics with it I wanna see them! |
Jim lee style xmen wolverine figure, that comes with the logan head sculpt, u can use the headsculpt from the tru 2pack that came with the black hand ninja. I've seen a gi joe duke head used for a good cap headswap. Cut the claws off wolvie hands for that retracted look, or leave the middle for an f-off look ,lol. Cyclops head swaps, use the jim lee head on any other body, ... mrs marvel variant head on regular body.. random pieces and a skrull to form a super skrull. Reed Richard's head sculpt on Johnny storm body. Iron man 2 Iron monger film version/comic version and use the Obadia head the came from the Iron man Movie 6'' open cockpit Iron monger, needs some dremel work, but I've seen it done before looks sick, MU Thor head on a thor movie body, or vise versa.

Some customizing was just for fixes. Like XMO Cyclops visor, filled it in with modeling clay, painted it, now he doesn't have a whole in his head. Along with painting Winter Soldiers star white.
Others where a lot more :P |

^ That Skrull looks NICE!!!! Where's that jacket from? Or did you make it??
|
I had to make the jacket. The bottom part came from Rise of Cobra Stormshadow.

Swap any GI Joe head onto an SHIELD body for a thousand percent improvment.
Take a DCU Black Lightening, add a WWII Cap triangular shield and repaint into an in-scale Patriot from Young Avengers. GI Joe movie Baroness head on a Scarlett body plus repaoint gets the perfect Viper (gotta post pics of these). |

Here's some ideas for some quick and easy ones. All you need are the right parts. Here's some of my more recent ones. If you want any recipe specifics let me know. This is AOA/Exiles Sabretooth and Morph, Future Franklin Richards, the Wizard, Tesla/Night Machine, Peter Parker and F4 Spidey, Bruce Banner and Tony Stark, Beyonder (inspired by his appearance in the Illuminati mini-series) and GR's bike, and Daken and Prof. X.
|
^ what head did you use for Morph?

I forgot my Guardians! And I know that these aren't terribly accurate. I tried to go for a mix between styles for Phyla and Adam.
EDIT: added a few more of Star-Lord for Tiberius. |

You gotta share what you did for Star-Lord! |

Epic recipe. |
Correct, Snowflakian. Iron Grenadier head with slightly modded eye pieces, Cobra Commander torso and arms, and ROC Destro legs.

Amazing. Really, we need the recipie for those! that Professor X rocks- and you made the Night Machine! |
Check my link in my sig for my three ones I posted a while back. Havok was my first and what kickstarted my want to customize. Then I worked on Nightcrawler and Xorn simultaneously. But Xorn is actually a GI Joe mold entirely. I want to customize more but I guess my patience for sanding down joints so paint doesn't rub, and applying several washes isn't very high.
I had plenty of ideas tho. Use the various Iron Men to make Nimrod/Bastion-Sentinel, and eventually a full X-Force team using stuff like Silver Surfer and Multiple Man to make Elixir and Vanisher, respectively (with head swaps of course). Among others, but I dunno when/if I'll ever get to them. |
I LOVE that Havok mod! I have that Wraith fig too and was wondering waht to do with it...now I know! I always thought that guy's head looked like Tony Stark too....(another custom idea is born!)
How'd you do the Havok leg sawp? Heat with hot water or something to open the joint? Love the NIghtcrawler to, but I have a whole 80's X-Team going so I'm keeping the classic look. That Xorn looks great but man...I hate Xorn like I hate hell and all Montigues. Very faithful custom though. |
Yeah basically I heated Havok/Wraith's legs (use a hair dryer, safer I guess) and popped the pegs through, and just swapped them. I used the pegs from the Wraith legs, I think Havok's pegs didn't work right. It's a simple process, and once you get the parts separated it's pretty clear what to do next by just looking at how they fit.
FYI, the Wraith legs are a tad shorter than the usual MU legs, if that matters to you. |
