Animated Clones vs. Movie Clones

Hey Forum,

I got a question, how do the animated clones look compared to the movie style clones? I've always been a movie guy because I don't care for the animated series. And I never collected the animated figures because they actually look different than the Episode II clones. But there's one type of animated clone that actually looks... good. Awesome actually. And that would be the ARF Trooper. I think the helmet looks realistic enough to fit quite nicely with the movie figures. But here's my question, how's the body sculpt for these figures? Do they virtually look the same as the movie ones? Or are they A LOT thinner/slender that they look almost anorexic compared to the movie ones? Also, which clones do YOU collect and which clones do YOU prefer. Animated? Or movie?

Personally, I prefer Stormtroopers ;)

But sticking with the Prequel timeframe, I'm with you on the Movie Clones moreso than the Animated ones. But the ARF one looks pretty good, even if he a name that Lucas's dog Indiana came up with.

I never liked the movies. Any of them really, but especially the prequels. I do however like the Clone Wars. I prefer those, especially given that the clones have actual personalities, and are not bland and lifeless like most of Lucas' writing.
Clone Wars made me actually care about Anakin, Captain Rex, and Commander Cody. And it made me care about the betrayal of Anakin and the clones. Writing and character depth is everything to me, and Clone Wars has it in spades. So yeah, I'd never ever touch the movie style clones. However, I've been more than tempted by the animated clones.

Well, to be fair, the 6 movies weren't really about the clones or the war itself. The prequels were about the fall of Anakin Skywalker and the original trilogy was about the redemption of Anakin through his son, Luke.

Because of this, all those Battle Droids, Clones, Stormtroopers and Rebel soldiers were basically canon fodder. They didn't get any characterization because they didn't need any.

In the Clone Wars series, several of the clones are main or secondary characters and the show explores the dynamic between them and the Jedi before the end of the war, the rise of Darth Vader and Order 66. So naturally they would get a ton of personality and characterization.

Oh, and love the original trilogy or GTFO! ;)

(Just kidding. Opinion is never right or wrong. It just is.)

Personally, if we're talking about clone character development. I prefer the comics. I still think the animated series does more for the clones, but I just think the show is too childish. Especially the whole Anakin/Ahsoka Master/apprentice relationship thing. Now if the show focused on the clones A LOT more than the main jedi characters, I may show more interest. ANYWAYS, back the comics. I like the comics when it comes to clones. They look cool, They focus more on the other commanders such as Bly, and Alpha-17 is cooler than Rex. JUST SAYING.

Also, original trilogy is still the best. For the prequels I hated the Phantom Menace (Loved Liam Neeson though, he's my favourite actor so yeah), for Attack of the Clones I loved the Battle of Geonosis (Still think out of all the movies that was the best battle), and Revenge of the Sith was all and all good (except for the very cheesy Darth Vader "NOOOOOOO!" at the end). As for the original trilogy, they're all good. No complaints.
