How do you hang your figs?

In all seriousness, I'm looking for a sort of glass case that's thin enough to show all the figs on stands, but not as deep as a bookshelf. Anyone have any ideas?

Sort of like this, but taller and with a glass cover

I use a curio cabinet, but how about these ACTION FIGURE CABINETS - Themed Figure Display Cabinets ?

I dont hang them but will eventually once I have my own toy area. I plan on using basic shelves but I do like that shot glass case and would really like to have one like that big enough to house the 3.75" figures.

Check out the Protech display cases:

Click on the link above and scroll down toward the bottom of the page.

I have a full curio full of figures, but I have used a couple of the mirrored 24-figure wall-hanger cabinets for overflow (or themed- one is just full of Iron Man figures- sort of my Iron Man armory). I was very satisfied with them, and there are some other wall-hangers and cabinets that you can check out on their site too- you just have to explore a bit to find them.

I have a 3 tiered display case, was originally part of a china hutch set, it sits on top of my desk and holds about 80% of my collections, it's full to the tits and the top of the cabinent is covered in even more figures. I have some figuees MOC that are either sitting on a ledge, or on the wall, I have a mini shelf displaying my metal gear solid figures... Eventually I'd like to get myself a larger cabinent atleast 5-7' tall and 2'-10' wide.. If I ever won the lottery I'd have an entire wing dedicated to my collection full of floor to ceiling stands. I wanna get apex clear stands and some more bases for my current figures to give them more space.

toy collection by blackmarkerstain on deviantART metal gear solid shelf, I have a few more figures but I can't fit anymore on that ledge lol.

I will upload some pics of my massive set up later, there's actually some on my camera taken, just not uploaded yet.

As for your question though, best thing is to shop local and used if you can, as ordering these cabinents online is gonna be expensive due to shipping weight and package sizing. A lot of carpenters can make you something like it for under $2-300 for something like 4'x4' with 6-8 shelves and 2 glass doors and maybe a lock, all depends on how big, how much detail and how many figures you're looking to hold, because if you don't have/buy many then buy small and expande later, or go big and work your way on filling it. Local buy/sell/trade, local online sites, even furniture places will sell curio/china cabinents, sometimes you can ones that have a crack or paint chips for half off. Ikea is good for display options or art stores like Michael's you can get 40-50% coupons.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm leaning more towards building my own, rather than dropping a shit ton of money on-line. Seems to be more time-consuming, but less pricey. Also, a project!

Try your local flea markets and/or garage sales...most of the time the people will actually sell their display cases if you ask. IKEA has nice cheap ones too...

you can build a box/rectangle as big as you want, add shelves, nail a backing to it like thin mdf board, then you can pick up some crazy detailed wooden pieces to glue/nail to the front to make it look like a master craftsman made them. Molding pieces is the word I'm looking for craft stores like Michael's sell them for a few bucks and some building supply stores carry them. The tricky part would be routing the groves for glass/plexiglass doors to slide/open. I'd say get the shell made, then pick up the glass yourself.. tons of people get rid of old thin pane windows get a few big enough and most glass places will cut it to size for next to nothing, then add the extra wood trim pieces, paint and stain that mother, and then from there it's gravy, maybe lights, led's name plates, decorative background, clouds the limit get creative and post pics when your done.

Make it yourself. That's what I would want to do. I have no skills at all, but it would be an adventure. Plus if it turned out great, it's another thing to be proud of =D.
