Nice collection, bro!

♫ Cuz this is Thriller! Thriller night! And no one's gonna save you from the beast about to strike...♫

Whoa! Just had an 80's flashback.

jamiebrayley 08-03-2009 11:45 PM

They are AWESOME mate

They must be very difficult to collect, cant be many of these around. ID love to have some of these, I loved the visionaries cartoon

scarecrow 08-04-2009 12:13 AM

Whoa these are rad. Here is a prime example of how young I am.. Can you explain to me what these are?

jamiebrayley 08-04-2009 01:21 AM

Visionaries was a cartoon from the 80's which only ran for 13 episodes, which is why i guess it isnt very well known. In the series there was a group of knights of the spectral light (good guys) and darkling lords (bad guys). A wizard named Merklyn granted them special powers which they could access by saying a special poem. These powers were represented with a hologram on their weapon/shield and their chestplate. the chestplate power could enable them to change their form, and the one on their weapon was a super powerful weapon. Once they used their power, it had to be replenished by merklyn - who had them doing errands/missions.

My mind is a bit hazy - havent watched the cartoon in a long time :)

Nice! I'm jealous. I love the artwork on the packaging. Brings back memories. I wish they'd release the show on DVD.

MegaPrime33 08-04-2009 05:47 AM

I loved this show and the figures. Cindarr was my absolute favorite. He battled many a GI Joe, and won every time.

It is available on DVD  I have a copy and its awesome

trebleshot 08-04-2009 07:32 AM

Also, I believe this was the first time Hasbro used the name Cryotek.

ludovicotek 08-04-2009 08:02 AM

@ jamiebrayley

But not Region 1, right? If it is, you've gots to tell me where you got it.

Good point - I have region 2. Just get yourself a cheap multiregion dvd player :)

I might have to do that. A lot of really good DVDs and sets are released in Region 2. I probably will end up getting a multiregion player so I can get all the good stuff not released Region 1.

I am sure you wont regret it :)

@ Da_Last_2_Walk

Have you had these for a while or did you just score them?

flywheels 08-05-2009 07:43 AM

A freakin' dollar for those figures?! I wish I had a time machine. The best part of the Visionaries line IMO was the packaging. I love the blister card art.

DESTRO 08-05-2009 01:45 PM

Mahogany! That's a nice collection. Visionaries are a guilty pleasure.

Optimus Scourge 08-05-2009 04:10 PM

Very Nice!

Runamuck 08-05-2009 04:57 PM

Very badass. Those are beautiful pieces, man. I had Leoric, Cryotek, Arzon, Darkstorm, and Cravex. None of the vehicles, though, as TFs and GI Joe were taking up my interest. :D

I would love to have these MOSC and MISB now. Are they expensive? Also, they need to bring back this line! Of course the quality wouldn't be as good, but it would be cool to see them again. Does Hasbro still own this line?

Croaker 08-06-2009 09:32 AM

I have the full collection loose - except Ectar's Helmet and Mordredd's weapon.
I'm (slowly) working on customs of the unproduced figures.

ad1976 08-08-2009 03:31 PM

Awesome...I forgot about this line. The blue lion one is cool. Want to show off your collection or post a link to my website? It's called prideandtoys.com and I started it last week. It's in progress but I'd love to see your whole collection...

Thanks!

It seems almost every toy from the 80s is hard to collect in mint condition.

I'll ask around to see if anybody has any Visionaries for sale.

The cartoon was one of my favorites! I'm so glad I have them on DVD!

Just an old 80's toy line by Hasbro, man. A very cool one at that.

Did Visionaries have a cartoon to accompany it?
