A question about regular Dr Strange

Why are all the none variant stranges in China? I went on ebay lookin for strange, decided i'd look at all the None Variants. all are in Malasiya or Hong Kong. what is up with that.

Jason Abbadon 07-18-2011 09:34 AM

They're with Wong.
We need a Wong figure- he out-badassed Blade by staking Dracula with a broken chairleg.
(Drac was in overdrive power though and shugged it off).

Optimus Vader 07-18-2011 09:36 AM

Can you think of a stranger place than Asia? I can't.

I can, but the place wouldnt be logical, or real

warmachine6 07-18-2011 10:19 AM

well most toys are made in china , so dont be suprised , that they havent shipped the normal ones

Nexodusrex 07-18-2011 10:47 AM

Hasbro needs to reopen the old Kenner Plant in Cincinatti, or buy the abandoned GM Plant by my home. I want some good american distribution.

thechris 07-18-2011 04:00 PM

If I can't get regular Dr. Strange at a retail price, I'm going to call Hasbro and act like a jerk to random people and I suggest everyone else do the same until news finally gets to head office that they're seriously pissing off their main MU client base with recent decisions. LOL. ie: Rarity of regular Doc Strange, introduction of Hopeless Cables, the lazy issues of repaints from the last several waves, exclusivity of the ONLY version of the Sentinel that we want to SDCC...

Tiberius 07-18-2011 04:46 PM

Get that phone ready Chris, Canada won't see this wave for alooooong time!

quinten182 07-19-2011 12:41 PM

I've had the 5 figure set pre-ordered for months on bbts. 49.99 for the whole set of 5 when Strange alone goes for that? Yes please and thank you that I did that. :x

I'm more interested in snagging the variant at this point since the regular should be a sure thing.

kostej 07-19-2011 12:50 PM

Well there is a possibility that your Strange will be variant too...

Actually, havent you noticed that the "variant" is actually the easier to find just like the Vision?

It seems like most of the "variants" are easier to come by.

1) Vision
2) Warpath
3) Havok
4) No baby Cable

Nexodusrex 07-19-2011 01:14 PM

Oh Look. Colored Doctor Strange has Been Spotted in the US
MARVEL UNIVERSE DR STRANGE COLOR | eBay
ladies and gentlemen......we have our next unmasked iron patriot

quinten182 07-19-2011 01:16 PM

Yes, but when you order a set, you always get the non-variant. I have so far any way.

And I agree with your 3 outside of Havok Optimus Vader. His "variant" actually was considered the rare one and still is.

But as far as Strange is concerned (as long as bbts gives me what I ordered like usual) then I only need the much easier to find "variant". Which is a sigh of relief since it is the easier to find one. That was entire point. :P

quinten182 07-19-2011 01:18 PM

P.S. There are several US-based much cheaper versions on ebay of colored Strange :P

actually. I can confirm that BBTS does send the variant somtimes in sets. back int he day, I once purchased the GIJoe 25th Anniversary Wave with Crocmaster and Wraith. I got the Variant Wraith.

quinten182 07-19-2011 01:35 PM

Well here's to hoping they don't screw it up!

Although I know that Hasbro has done that before, as I got a variant Winter Soldier in that wave's case!

Nexodusrex 07-19-2011 01:52 PM

these things wouldnt happen if Hasbro would just release the primary figure, and then release the varient in a later wave. Dr Strange's Astral Form is the opposite of the Flame On Human Torch figure. People only want the Astral Form AFTER they collect the original form.

scarecrow 07-19-2011 02:25 PM

I'm sorry it's tough for you to find him. I've never seen the regular version myself... Which is lame because he is such a great looking figure that I feel could be wasted on the astral projection version on its own.

That was back in the day when you ordered a case, they sent you a sealed case. Now if there's a possibility of a variant, they open the case boxes up and send you the figures individually, only with all regular versions.

I like BBTS, but that's the shittiest practice they've taken up. I think they started that with the Clear Wraith case actually.
