Dc's DCNu, What are you getting?

When it's all said and done I see this as a "jumping off"point on some stuff but what i will be getting

I...Vampire
Frankinstein
Green Lantern titles

and that's it. How about you guys?

bmorr 11-29-2011 02:56 PM

I couldnt find an appropriate thread for this but, I was checking my pull list from comixology and the DC book pulls were a third the numbers from september. The top was about 400-something. Gets me kinds worried. Ill have to back and see the 52 as a whole for all of september.

Nexodusrex 11-29-2011 03:17 PM

I like some of the books but am greatly disapointed in a few things. number 1 being supermans new costume. I would change it, not back to what it was since they want to ditch the underwear. Fine. Ditch it. But I would have Red Belt with big Yellow SShield buckle, no high collar, no paneling lines on the suit since he's superman and dosent need armor, the boots would be returned to their classic appearance with a yellow trim.

also wish Barbara was still in a wheel chair, wish Wally West was around somewhere, wish Powergirl had power, wish riddler didnt have that question mark mohawk, and wish Darkseid was back to his original look.

bmorr 11-29-2011 04:44 PM

yeah the new 52 didnt draw me in. That, and i cant afford to read both marvel and dc everyweek

LXL_Guy 11-29-2011 05:18 PM

I miss the old DCU honestly.

So much makes no sense now since Earth 2 exists again. Which just means that Crisis on Infinite Earths never happened. That in itself makes no sense too since original Dove "Don" still died during a crisis which would have been infinite.

Just thinking about it makes my head spin.

CLASSIFIED 11-29-2011 06:14 PM

I've picked up just about all of them.

LXL_Guy 11-29-2011 06:28 PM

My own list has thinned down to about 16 titles. It'll drop again in the next month down to 13 I think after I had gone through and compiled what I wanted and didn't.

Kaewin 12-21-2011 06:02 PM

I am getting Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corps, New Guardians, JLA, Detective Comics and Swamp Thing. I just dropped Red Lantern, Justice League dark, and Action Comics. I am trying to figure out if I want to drop Stormwatch (which I get for the Martian Manhunter) who is about to get a new writer and Animal Man.

CLASSIFIED 12-21-2011 06:46 PM

I've decided to drop Stormwatch as well.

Kaewin 12-21-2011 06:58 PM

The only reason I keep it is for J'Onn. He is my fav DC character. I understand that the writer is going away and someone else is taking over. He has two issues to improve.

CLASSIFIED 12-21-2011 07:00 PM

J'ohn belongs in the League.

Kaewin 12-21-2011 07:02 PM

Yes!!! I can't believe they put that punk there instead. I have never been a Cyborg fan it is seemed as a slap to history for him to be there.

CLASSIFIED 12-21-2011 07:04 PM

Cyborg is cool, but only because he had a Super Powers action figure and was in Super Friends.

DC just forces it sometimes.

And J'ohn in Stormwatch is their way of forcing us to read it.

Kaewin 12-21-2011 07:08 PM

You must be reading my mind. I only get the book for him and I feel cheated. Of course J'Onn doesn't get a fair shake at his own book for too long.

CLASSIFIED 12-21-2011 07:10 PM

He's tough to write because it is hard for the reader to relate I think.

Kaewin 12-21-2011 07:15 PM

That's true. He is very alien. Superman at least looks human. Maybe a few mini's would fit him.

CLASSIFIED 12-21-2011 07:18 PM

I think if he spent more time as John Jones, got himself a girlfriend, had to raise M'Gahn on his own and only broke the Martian Manhunter out at the end to kick some alien ass he would be good to go.

He should be like a detective hunting hostile aliens on Earth.

Kaewin 12-21-2011 07:21 PM

Sounds good. He also has all of the other identities he could use. I would like to see him do more with M'hgan too. I only saw a bit of her and never got to know her.

CLASSIFIED 12-21-2011 07:24 PM

She's a white martian.

She's in Super Boy I think, as well as the Young Justice toon.

Kaewin 12-21-2011 07:26 PM

I haven't tried it. My daughter gets batgirl, Supergirl, Superboy and Teen Titans. I should peak at her books.

CLASSIFIED 12-21-2011 07:28 PM

Yeah you should.

Supergirl and Batgirl are both good IMO.

I'm about ready to drop Teen Titans.

Kaewin 12-21-2011 07:30 PM

She is a teen and likes the books she is nearer in age to. I read the first Batgirl and liked it but all of her last two months of books are wrapped up under the tree for X-Mas. Going to sneak some then. ;)

CLASSIFIED 12-21-2011 07:31 PM

Does she read Young Avengers?

Kaewin 12-21-2011 07:33 PM

She has and liked them. I have the hardcover on the shelf and she and her sister read it often. She also gets Children's Crusade and loves it. That is one of the few others books she gets. Iron man and Severed are on her list.
