If you are a DCUC fan, read this.

If the goal for the club isn't reached, then Wave 20 will be the last of the pre-reboot characters. If you are still on the fence read this: DC Club or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying & Love the Unknown « It'sAllTrue.Net

Very insightful and well written article. :) If I get the money soon, I might just sign up for the DCUC subsription (Gotta get me that Atrocitus!) also....I am the crazy bastard who actually wants the Black Lantern Swamp Thing. ;)

I want Black Lantern Swamp Thing too. Be sure to sign up by August 5th, that's the cut off date.

I'm hoping Rocket Red wins, but if he doesn't, it better be Black Lantern Swamp Thing to win.

Crazy Jetty 08-01-2011 12:26 PM

Red Rocket, due to his JLI connections is my favorite choice. Black Lantern Swamp Thing is my second choice. Because hey, I can always use another Lantern. But, I honestly couldn't care less for the other two. Not into the New Gods, and I've never even heard of Shaggyman.

KshatriyaNZ666 08-01-2011 03:37 PM

Wasn't Shaggy Man in that last poll for the Collect-n-Connect? The one where Nekron won. I don't recognize him either :)

If he was, seems like someone in Mattel really wants him considered - at least that's my theory. Don't really see Shaggy Man as something general fans would even want.

And hey, the Club thermometer's made its way past 20%.

Depending upon the mold, he might make for a good Marvel Legends Alpha Flight Sasquatch... not a good reason to vote for him though. :)

I was thinking about making that comparison, but held back. I love my ML Sasquatch! So yeah, good point. :D

What I'm worried about is since we've got four oversized figs to vote on, and we'll be getting four oversized figures over the course of the year, I'm wondering if they'll just give us all four regardless, and the vote is basically just on who we get first. I reeeeaaaaallllly don't want Shaggy Man.

But I'm thinking that I'll just bite the bullet and go subscribe. I really want Atrocitus and chances are this'll be the only way we'll see a Larfleeze. But I can work with figures I don't care about because my brother also collects DCUC and he said he'd just buy off ones I don't want/need.

Also, I'm willing to bet that the vote goes to Metron. Don't really want him, but I'll bet he gets it, along with his throne.

That's another thing that bugs me. I can handle paying for a figure I don't want (I would rather not of course, but I'm sure everyone feels the same way), but paying for an oversized figure I don't want is a whole other story. I sure as hell wouldn't want to pay 30$ and shipping for a Shaggy Man I don't want. Sure I can sell it, but I honestly don't want to go through that hassle because I usually don't sell my figures. So that's just another issue with the subscription in my opinion.

And yeah, they probably have all the sculpts ready to go and and we'll get them all regardless. Doubt they'd all be in row, but over the course of 3 years or so subscribers will probably end up with all of them.

Agreed, my JSA, JLA, and JLI must all be complete!

Crazy Jetty 08-01-2011 07:01 PM

Well, technically if I understand it right, the vote is for this being the membership exclusive, making subcription being the *only* way to get the figure. The other oversized figures, whomever they have planned, would be for general sale.
So, likely all four figures *are* indeed going to show up at some point. Just one of them would not be for sale.

Soundout 08-01-2011 07:09 PM

Remember guys, Friday is the last day to buy subs. We're only at 24% so get subbing!

Is anyone else getting an error message when trying to submit their subscription order? I keep getting to the end of the check-out process and then receiving a server error message on their site.

Typical mattycollector.com woes?

I just locked in my subscription order earlier this afternoon, and everything went fine.

The total pre-authorization amount (plus lowest shipping method and tax for the first figure) was approximately $57.11.

Ouch...so yeah, just be wary that this IS a pre-authorized amount - they technically don't charge you yet, and don't expect to be paying $30-$45 as advertised. Though I see this as totally normal - with shipping and (stupid) tax, that is. Oh, and shipping was like $8 or something - $8+ to ship a single figure, is that really how it is nowadays??

Prowl 2009 08-04-2011 01:46 PM

Man, I wonder how much more it'll be for Canada.

Crazy Jetty 08-04-2011 02:00 PM

I had a hard time, and kept getting an error message when I was trying to finish it.

hrothgars 08-04-2011 03:33 PM

I just found that there is a word-entry security field on the last screen before order processing. This did not appear in my Firefox browser the numerous times I attempted to process my order. I switched to Internet Explorer (who uses that anymore?) and saw that the field appears in an area where there is blank white space in my Firefox browser. If anyone is having trouble, try using a different browser.

I cannot confirm whether this issue consistently appears in Chrome, Safari, Opera or other browsers other than the Firefox vs. IE conflict.

I can say that it's all right with Chrome at least - that's the browser I used at the time.

Yeah, that security field and your card's security code are the only fields that reset after an incorrect entry - they are somewhat easy to miss (for me at least):o

just got 2 subscriptions....I don't see what all the fuss is, I can understand how some people financially can't afford it, times can be rough for a lot of ppl right now but I'm a fan...as are most of you...and I'm a big kid at heart, and this is def something that interests me, so money can be saved and will be spent on this club, I will make sacrifices, but honestly its not too expensive like some are making it out to be...the cost of everything is going up, thats how it goes....$20 a figure nowadays isn't all that bad. And for a little bit more to have some exclusive figures is def well worth it, especially to add them to the collection I already have, the whole thing is a win for me...i just hope more people join up!

hrothgars 08-05-2011 08:49 AM

The subscription deadline has been extended to 08/14/2011.

I also got a reply from Mattycollector's webmaster and he said that the checkout issues was due to my browser settings not allowing cookies (the email explained a long and hilarious layperson's explanation of "cookies"). I do have my browser options set to delete cookies each time the browser closes, but I accept cookies during each session, so I don't think they quite have a handle on the issue.

KshatriyaNZ666 08-05-2011 09:55 AM

Scratch my previous deduction. I was given the total of $57.11, but it seems I was only pre-authorized for the amount of $31.91 on my card.

Sorry for any confusion I may have caused....:o
