First Look at Henry Cavill as Superman
|
Hmm... not sure yet. I hate to complain so early, but I'm not feeling that texture on his outfit. And Superman rocking a pompadour? ugh.
I still don't feel like Zack Snyder is the right choice for this flick. I thing he has a great style all his own, but I don't really want to watch a 2-hour Superman music video. |
I'm not feeling the hair style at ALL!!!
|
Interesting. Need to see more.
|
Frankly i still am not sure a good Supes film can be made but yeah not feeling the textured suit ... but come on guys the Hair is awesome!!
|
um no....is this going to be a made for tv movie? That's what I feel like im looking at.
|
can i just ask, how comes everyone is so afraid of this snyder supes film. how much swing does the director actually have??? because at the end of the day, isnt it down to the writers to whats in the film, the dialogue, how many action scenes there are, what would need to be CGI etc. isnt it the writing that makes a film good or bad???
im curious. and about the suit. im kind of disappointed that the suit is almost exactly the same as the classic, although minus the red pants it looks like. i was hoping they would use a different design for this new generation. it just doesnt excite me seeing the same old suit. if you look on google for superman concept suits, there is some great stuff that would really work in a film. but they have gone with the same old boring suit. easy option. then again, if they changed it too much, alot of fans would complauin about that too so its a lose lose haha. |
I'll hold judgement till I see a better picture. =3
UPDATE: Here you go guys, better pic. http://media.comicbookmovie.com/imag...upermanbig.jpg Love the suit. Not sure what to think on the Actor just yet. |

Film is such a collaborative process that so many hands have an influence on the outcome. Of course the script is important, but the director really shapes the film into their vision. You can have the same exact script executed by three different directors and I guarantee you you will get three different results. My personal opinion on Snyder is that he is too much of a commercial (advertising) or music video style director. He relies heavily on editing to music and slow motion shots. He definitely brings the eye candy, that cannot be argued. I'm sure the action sequences in his Superman are going to blow people away. I just think that he's stronger working from an existing source material (300, Watchmen) than with original material (Sucker Punch). More specifically, he pretty much used the actual comics of 300 and Watchmen as the story board for the movie; literally recreating panels off the page. I don't know what's going to be included in this Superman movie, but I just don't see it being based specifically any story arc in particular. Now, I know that a lot of that deals with the script, BUT Snyder is best, again IMO, at recreating those comic panels, NOT creating his own. I really want him to do a great job and deliver an outstanding movie. I'm just a little worried that his hyper-stylized way of filming will overtake the story. |
*clap clap* All I can say is, thank goodness it's this guy and not Matt Goode.
|
Hmm. Not bad. Not diggin the hair though IMHO. Why didn't they go for the new reboot look? SDCC had the DC direct figure and he looks awesome! That's what a movie supes should look like.

Well.... He is the MAN OF STEEL. |
I think this looks awesome. I wasnt too sure about it when i saw the first pic. i thought it was too like all the other superman film suits even though they have dropped the pants. but looking at these pics and the metallic details on the sides of his ribs / legs etc and the gauntlet things, it looks different enough for me but still has the traditional red blue and the S.
and he is hench too. much better than Routh looked. Im not sure if it is some padding in the shoulders and biceps, something doesnt look quite right about the shoulders. but it definitely looks good nonetheless. |
At least his hair style is better now!!

I don't mind the costume or the hair... and don't know anything about the director, so all I have going for me is that I'm pumped they're making a new Superman. WTF has taken so long! This isn't The Green Lantern, Flash, or some other superhero who couldn't hold Superman's jock (that joke was for omega) we're talking about here, it's THE MAN! I really hope this movie is good.. that last one with Spacey was a real snoozer.
