1/18 2008 Shelby Collectables Mustang GT500KR
 

This car is on my "Must have" List. It is as close to the new KITT from the new Knight Rider series as you can get.

I have not seen it at retail yet, but TRU does carry the Shelby line, I hope to see it soon.

DESCRIPTIONS:

Brand new 1:18 scale diecast car model of 2008 Shelby Mustang GT500KR die cast car by Shelby Collectables.

Has steerable wheels.

Rubber tires.

Made of diecast with some plastic parts.

Has plastic display stand with window box.

Detailed interior, exterior, engine compartment.

Hood, doors and truck all open.

Dimensions approximately L-10, W-4, H-3.5 inches.

For serious. It's just so nice, even not being KITT. It's perfect. I'd just have to remove "shelby" frome the front.

Has anyone found this or any other Selby Collectables in stores? I haven't seen thsi anywhere!

Only major retail store I've seen Shelby Collectibles at is TRU. But I haven't seen this one. We haven't gotten a case of these in awhile.

Found it last night at TRU. Very cool piece!

That is SOOOO nice! Yeah, BS that the show was cancelled, but we can hope that if the rest of the eps do well, somebody may pick it back up.

So it turns out the show ISN'T cancelled, it just had some eps cut to cut costs. (as well as having like 170 people laid off at NBC)

Hey, OpsScourge: have you or are you planning to turn your Shelby into KITT yet?

Planning, yes. The Shelby on the front needs to be removed, to be honest, it is such a nice piece, I might feel bad if I took it off, like I defaced something.

Still on the fence about that. I never gave it a second thought at first, but, the Shelby Collectibles GT500KR is just soo nice. You will see what I mean when you get it.

Prolly gonna do it eventually, though ;)

I own quite a few 1/18 from various manufacturers and such, and while I thought the $34.99 was a lot, I changed my mind the second I opened it. It is worth every cent.

It is indredible how nice it is for that pricepoint. Seems to be of the GMP or the Hot Wheels Elite type quality, those are usually $75 and up last I knew, so for this to be on par quality wise, IMO, the price is very reasonable.

I am definitely doing the red scanner, at least, soon.

I've been working crazy lately, but I did manage to get the weekend off, So hopefully over the weekend I can get to doing it.

It's K. I'm deffinately removing the Shelby lettering when-... if I get it. I hate it when cars have their names written on them. That's what logos are for! Plus, they look cooler. I especially like how the Cobra logos are 3D and chromed. Plus, every detail just looks so clean and perfect. I'm also giving this bad boy a new plate.

Oh, I'm removing it, I'm just enjoying it as is for a bit.

I would love to have the chrome cobra emblem without the Shelby moniker through the Cobra logo. That is the only detail left to be true to KITT, right?

I'd love for there to be a way to have a true scanner, it could be done, I guess, but you'd have to cut up a die cast hood to do it. I ain't doing that. (though I wish I could)

I have some waterslide decals sheets left, so I am gonna try and whip up a plate as well :D

Yeah, I'd say the Cobra logos are the only detail, minus the interior, that isn't easily changeable into KITT.

The real Shelby has a grill/thing where the scan is, so if the car was more detailed and had that peice made out of, say, plastic, maybe it would be possible to remove the plastic "grill" and slip a scanner in there. Not that it's important, but I was just thinking.

I found one in TRU weeks ago and added it to my collection of 1:18 scale Mustangs. These are sweet. Shelby does a great job with thier scale models, I have a few others as well.

Yeah, I have a couple others, the regular Cobra 427, and the deep blue Super Snake.

i want the real one.
