Star Wars vs Marvel

Interesting.....

Star Wars vs. Marvel - Comics Feature at IGN

ludovicotek 08-16-2011 08:23 PM

That's pretty cool. I'd have to go with Marvel. All the way. I'm not sure any of the main Marvel characters would lose to any Star Wars character. I voted for Wolvie and Spidey in the poll. Shocked to see Skywalker is currently ahead of Spider-Man.

Agreed!!!

I did an x force vs the sith in my gallery awhile back. Here is one display I did with x force wolverine vs darth maul. I think wolverine has this one.

Placed my votes. Surprisingly went with more SW characters than Marvel. Maybe it's because I grew up with SW.

ludovicotek 09-03-2011 06:31 AM

Darth Vader vs Magneto and Obi Wan vs Professor X are both interesting match ups. Still, I have to go with Marvel on both instances.

Jason Abbadon 09-03-2011 06:44 AM

Boba Fett vs. the Punisher.
Doctor Strange vs. Palpaltine
Ego vs the Death Star
The Slug vs. Jaba for the "who can gross out the ladies more" contest.

CLASSIFIED 09-03-2011 07:06 AM

My brother and I used to argue over who would win in a fight between Star Wars and Star Trek and he always used the power of the force as a justification for Star Wars winning.

Personally, I think an entity from the Q Continuum would trump even the most proficient Jedi.

As to Star Wars vs Marvel; it all depends on who is writing the story.

If it was co published by Dark-horse and Marvel I suspect it would end in a draw with the heroes of both universes eventually teaming up against the bad guys.

Galactus eats the Death Star for the win.

Do Boy 09-03-2011 07:23 AM

I wonder why they stopped updating? Where there only suppose to be 5 Rounds?

MegaPrime33 09-03-2011 07:31 AM

It's a pretty interesting poll. However, I see Vader is beating Magneto, which logically, makes no sense. Vader is like 90% metal, and that's not including his armor. Magneto would have a field day. Especially since Vader can't do any mind tricks.

Yeah I was kinda curious about that too lol. This is truely a popularity contest. But also that is going under the assumption Mind control is a psychic power. Also chocking isn't in the mind ;)

This is true, however, all Magneto would need to do is twitch his fingers and he could easily remove Vader's limbs, or deactivate his suit, or remove his helmet, or any number of things to take him down. Plus Magneto can create energy fields that could possibly block saber attacks. Just seems like a no brainer to me.

omega145 09-03-2011 09:02 AM

Very cool poll, thanks for posting this James. In most cases Marvel superheroes win all of these because they actually have super powers. As someone already suggested, its more of a popularity contest.

Crazy Jetty 09-03-2011 10:49 AM

I think in straight match-ups where you pit characters with simular abilities over one another, the marvel characters win hands down every time. It's a joke to think Vader could beat Magneto, for all the reasons already put forth.
Though it gets genuinely interesting when you pit characetrs who aren't the equivalent/equals. Spider-man vs Darth Maul. Captain America, or Thor vs Darth Vader. When the hero is at a seeming disadvantage, like Cap, or so different, like Thor... then you get into genuinely interesting possibilities.

I call it though for Marvel. Here's why.
DOOOOOOOOOOOOM! I think Doom's magic would compensate for the Force. Which is enough to fend off Vader's force attacks. His armor puts him at least on equal footing with Vader, if not easily besting him. Leaving Vader with only his lightsaber as his primary weapon. But, I don't think it'll go down that way.
Vader is forever a toady. That's all he's ever been. I think Doom would lure him away from Palpatine, and the two of them together would take over the Empire, with Lord Doom master of all.

You're assuming Vader is made of a metal Magneto can manipulate.

Keep in mind Vader exists in a galaxy far, far away, and from a long time ago.

Who knows what he's made of really and if Magneto can even effect him?;)

I was going to say the same thing! Lol

miketime 09-05-2011 01:27 PM

Way to poop on my parade. lol I'm sitting here thinking; there is no way Vader would beat Magneto being made of metal himself and with Magnetos magnetic fields against saber attacks. :) And you have bring up the long ago far far away thing. Matter is matter and short of sticking a magnet up against the Darth Vader costume I have to believe that he is made of metal that Magneto can manipulate. Advantage Marvel.

bmorr 09-05-2011 01:35 PM

star wars will always lose based on the horrifically overpowered characters that cosmic marvel has.

i want to see galactus use the death star as a beachball. The image im picturing is glorious.

What's *always* fun are the Star Wars fans who constantly try to rationalize to me why Unicron, a [i]god inhabiting a metal body the size of saturn, would lose to a slow moving space station the size of a small moon, who's only advantage is a giant laser.

bmorr 09-05-2011 02:28 PM

well if were talking about TF vs SW...

a jedi could take apart a transformer with the force. weve already seen them assemble lightsabers using their mind. Hell, that stupid uber jedi from force unleashed brought down a star destroyer by himself.

Yeah, but in Clone Wars Jedi have trouble with those roll-ee ball force field droids.

If that's the case, then I think your main guys, like Optimus and Megatron could defeat a Jedi.

Now if your talking Transformers vs Marvel, then Marvel wins.

If this thread has taught me anything, its that as long as your universe has metal in it; Marvel wins, because Marvel has Magneto.:D

I think that pretty much sums it up quite nicely.

Agreed.
Hell, Magneto showed up at Illyana's funeral, and froze everyone in their tracks by taking control of the iron in their blood.

HA HA HA
that's funny lol

We think star wars loses, spider man could beat a jedi.

deadpool 09-05-2011 09:54 PM

Wolverine would do a episode 1 obi wan on Darth Maul.
Luke vs Spider-man I voted Luke then thought Spider-man Could web up Luke.
Xavier is more powerful than Obi wan.
Han would shoot himself after deadpool doesn't stop talking.
Magneto could just use Vaders limbs against him self
