Question about Hydra troops.

So, a quick question about the Hydra goons in the cap line (I know Andycr will know the answer to this...)

What are the differences between the Hydra soldiers from wave 3 and the ones from wave 4? Is it just a different name but the same figure?

If I remember correctly the wave 4 ones are more classically colored.

rodimus15 08-30-2011 03:17 PM

Same figure, Different accessories and gear.

quinten182 08-30-2011 03:18 PM

No, the variant was the classic colored one, but the wave 3 and wave 4 were packaged different, named different, and potentially had different weapons? Only wave 4 had the variant as a classic colored hydra soldier though.

MegsTriggerMan 08-30-2011 03:21 PM

I have the varients classic colored soldiers ... i kinda have generous friend remorse about not pickin up and letting my friend get the varient colored Hydra green Red Skull with white gloves!

Boba Fettuccini 08-30-2011 03:32 PM

They have different heads and leg details. I saw a side-by-side photo of them on another toy site.

boombatty 08-30-2011 05:22 PM

Where are you guys finding these Hydra Troops? I have found the Deluxe Dark Hydra guys at Target but have never seen a Hydra Trooper in the wild.

jamesmruddy 08-30-2011 05:38 PM

I have seen the Deluxe Hydra soldier, he is falling off the pegs here. I have not seen the singled carded one anywhere. A buddy of mine got me the single carded variant one. It's weird how it works from region to region it seems. What is plentiful in one area is scarce in another and vice verse.

I literally see at least two of them every time I go to Target. I see the deluxe ones EVERYWHERE.

I'm located here

Toys "R" Us is selling them on there web site, but what you get color wise is random.

Captain America The First Avenger Action Figure - Attack Trooper Missile (Colors vary) - Hasbro - Toys "R" Us

I know the helmets look different.

iLegends73 08-30-2011 06:13 PM

i still have yet to see a single hydra goon in my area. after 9 walmarts 4 targets and 2 kmarts...someone must pay..KKKAAAHHNNN!!!

MasterSock 08-30-2011 06:28 PM

Their 5 type of hydra soldier Movie Attack and defender along with their comic color variation. Then you have deluxe hydra.

ludovicotek 08-31-2011 09:34 PM

Just found the newest wave Hydra Soldier. Looks to me like the only difference is the head and the smaller gun is different.

For me, the difference is one is impossible to find, and the other just can't be found. :P

I've seen a couple at a local Target.

Anything new I find now a days seem to come from Target. TRU and Wal-
Mart seems to be slacking lately.

neatogecko 09-01-2011 08:31 AM

Thanks for the pics ludo. Now I know that the only armored troopers I have are the comic colored ones and the only attack troopers I have are the movie colored ones.

Boba Fettuccini 09-01-2011 06:36 PM

I like the Attack version better. The smaller gun looks better, and the mask too. So I ordered 3 from TRU, hopefully this means I can put off the Captain America hunting... unless of course they release the Howling Commandos and a movie Bucky.

Do Boy 09-01-2011 07:25 PM

Didn't even know there was different versions lol

Judging from just the stores I shop at, I wouldn't even know the Hydra soldier existed period, much less had a variation.

Boba Fettuccini 09-01-2011 07:41 PM

It's not a variation, actually. They're separate figures with different numbers on the packaging and everything. The variant is just the comic coloring.

As far as I can tell the Armored Soldier and the Attack Trooper are the same figure mold. The only differences I've noticed on them is the coloring scheme on the head is a little different with the Armored Soldier being a olive green and the Attack Trooper has a striped scheme on his head. The goggles are also colored differently with the Armored Soldier having a darker color and the Attack Trooper has a lighter color.

The weapons are slightly different as they come with different smaller guns. Both are packaged with the huge missile launcher accessory. The stock is colored differently with the Armored Trooper having a black stock (same as Red Skull) and the Attack Trooper's stock is colored off-grey.

I've reviewed both of the soldiers on my Youtube channel. I got lucky and found the comic color variant of the Attack Trooper but never located the comic color variant of the Armored Soldier.

Dylan in Oregon 09-03-2011 10:51 AM

Yeah, and the both of them can only be found on ebay, from scalpers charging $30!
