fair trade?

My complete baf Apocalypse for a MIB Gigantic Battles Marvel Universe Goliath and Iron man? I'm debating it, and just want some feeback, value wise they're compairable, my only thing is the baf is huge and heavy so shipping isn't going to be cheap, especially from PEI to ma, just want 2nd opinions is this a good trade?

omega145 09-01-2011 01:20 PM

Do you not want that BAF Apocalypse? IMO, its a much better toy than the Goliath which is basically a repaint giant Skrull and the Iron Man is kind of a throw away.
Value wise like you said its basically even.
If you dont care for the Apocalypse then id say do it. If you do, I wouldnt do this trade at all.

perrych 09-01-2011 02:00 PM

Nope. Maybe a good trade for the variant Giant Man (red), but not the blue one since it still being found TJ Max.

Fedup23 09-01-2011 02:08 PM

You have to determine if its a fair trade or not.. I could consider a used piece of chewing gum a fair trade for Spidey 2099 if I really wanted that gum.

I still haven't found anything good at My TJ Max lately.

Well if you say value wise the trade is even. It comes down to do you really want the Goliath figure or the Apocalypse figure?

Tiberius 09-01-2011 02:09 PM

It is a good trade if you are even considering it imo. If you want your Apocalypse more than a Goliath, bad trade of course. But, if you want a Goliath more than your Apocalypse, then good trade. It isn't always about how much is it worth on Amazon, or eBay or whatever, its about what you are confortable with doing and won't regret it later or wake up in the middle of the night crying next to your gf because you made a mistake.

Example, Stretch Strike Venom is worth more than Showdown Venom, but I traded my SS Venom MOC for a SHS Venom [loose]. Sure, the person I traded with got the "more expensive" figure, but it doesn't matter because we both got something we want =D.

perrych 09-01-2011 02:45 PM

Let me elaborate on my answer: I purchased a complete Apocalypse with the two hoses for about $40 shipped. To me, that was a good deal. TJ Max sells the Goliath pack for less than $20 - I can't remember what I bought mine for. To go further, Apocalypse fits in well with MU so you might regret not keeping it later. Blue Goliath isn't really the "classic" version either - that would be the red one with the antennae coming out of his forehead.

But if you really want it and don't care about Goliath, go for it. If I really wanted this figure, though, I would keep shopping at TJ Max and Marshalls.

Really? I could've sworn the blue one came first (as stated in the comic that came with the set)

You got to remember, Canada doesn't have TJ Max and Marshalls, we have Canadian equivalents to those stores, but it doesn't mean we always or even will get anything like Max and Marsh.

And to add to your post. Even if you had them you aren't guaranteed that they will have them in stock. I have been to like 8. Nothing!!!

Early appearance by the red suit right after he gave up being Ant Man and became Giant Man, though it is hard to tell

Sorry mate, when he went by the name of Goliath, his first costume was blue/yellow as fallows:

Some time after, he went with:

http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__...x-Goliath5.jpg

Then he became Yellowjacket

bmorr 09-01-2011 04:45 PM

that man speaks the truth

ludovicotek 09-01-2011 04:52 PM

I think the BAF Apocalypse has the higher value.

MasterSock 09-01-2011 05:00 PM

Fair trade their both rare and according to ebay they have almost the same price value.

quinten182 09-02-2011 02:18 PM

Tiberius said it best.. if you get something you want.. everyone wins

scarecrow 09-02-2011 03:55 PM

The first suit WAS red, but that under a different alias, Giant Man. Which is Hank's second alias.

Sorry to cause such an uproar. but I was under the impression, i've since found new information, that the Figure was called Giant Man hence my argument. I thought for sure they had given Bill Foster the Goliath title cus his old name 'black goliath' is racist, and that they would have differentiated them by having Hank Pym be Giant Man & Bill Foster be Goliath. In my mind no harm no foul, carry on

Tiberius 09-02-2011 04:11 PM

Yes, just to make everyone know where we are all coming from, Hank Pyms aliases is as fallows:

Ant-Man

For the record if I would get the Blue & Yellow suit as it is truly classic, the red has a certain appeal I suppose but the other is spot on in my opinion, so if you are trading for B/Y Goliath I would cus I like the MU Apocalyspe figure they made but if you have an attachment to the BAF Apoc I understand. Decisions, Decisions

omega145 09-02-2011 05:51 PM

Id keep the BAF apocalypse and save up for the BAF giantman, /thread.

Tiberius 09-02-2011 05:57 PM

I got a feeling the day I FINALLY buy myself a BAF Giant Man, one will come out for Masterworks or Gigantic Battles, with my luck.

Word! I love the Baf Apocalypse, I have 2 actually, cept the other 1 is a custom which is made to look like Iron man, and I have another head section, I'm just half torn I do love the figure, he's just massive and hard to display with my limited area, the Goliath is still a big figure but not as big, value wise they're around the same , little less, little more depending on the auctions you find online. Regardless what the baf cost me and what Goliath cost him, I'm just thinking shipping costs and value for overall trade, as the figure that comes with Goliath is a meh, I feel if I got another decent figure with him like a warpath, vision or some skrulls I'd be happy. plus I just hate paying shipping, wish everything was free lol.

thechris 09-02-2011 07:21 PM

Unfortunately I paid a premium for the blue Goliath, I could've bought 2 Apocalyse BAF figures for what I paid for him. :(
