MU Giant Man, Ult Hawkeye & Xforce Deadpool

Hello all, new to customizing figures, here are my first attempts.

I did a 3.75 Giant man just becasue i had the spare figs and it was simple enough to do, and i recently got a BAF Giantman so i had to do it :D

Ultimates Hawkeye is one of my favorite characters and since there is a good amount of Ultimates figures out i figure id make him to add to my collection. He used a lot of figs but i am very satisfied with his outcome.

Lastly, X-force Deadpool. I didnt like the Deadpool they used for the Xforce pack and all my other Xforce figs are silver so i just repainted a comic pack Deadpool and changed a few things to make his as comic accurate as i could.

Thanks for looking, any and all feedback is appreciated! :)

All amazing. What would be cool is if you had an interchangable Ant-man head for Pym! That would be GOLDEN.

Do Boy 09-06-2011 09:27 PM

Man that Giant Man looks amazing!

You have a great eye for detail, I really want to get more involved with customizing figures, but lack the drive and time to do so. What kind of paint and sculpting material did you use, if you don't me asking?

gooeychicken 09-06-2011 09:51 PM

hey guys thanks for the feedback!

well theres an upcoming 3.75 ant man so a headswap then would work :)

as for the paint i use a mix of model masters paints, liquitex and ceramcoat i water them all down though. and i didnt do any sculpting for these, but i have apoxie sculpt i use on vinyl toys i make.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll keep that in mind when I finally stop procrastinating and start working on something epic. I was going to do a 3 3/4 HUSH from DC, but never got around to it. Maybe you should put your skills to work on that idea.... I'm sure there are others out there that would buy it from you.

Nice customs man, Im really liking that Giantman, I like the avengers and started reading their stuff with New Avengers back in 2002 i think but since then ive bought quite a few MasterWorks and have read the earlier issues of the Original Avengers and I love the team, the art and writing is awesome as well. The original stories just have a sense of sci-fi more so then than now, especially since everyone still had a secret identity even among themselves.

Wow! These are your first attempts at customs? Damn! Excellent work.

paint job is nice, the deadpool is ok, but seems a little 2 shiny, IMO, do love the paint and linework on you giant man, and that hawkeye is sweet,...you should string his bow, and if you had extra arrows you could make 1 on fire with the aid if hot glue and lil red/orange/yellow paint or blue and white.

wonderful....................just wonderful

iLegends73 09-07-2011 12:03 AM

Yeah I'm really digging that Giant Man. Deadpool looks cool but it also looks like I could not play with him which I totally understand. :)

Giant man is super simple, here's his breakdown:

Body: MU Scarlet Spider, just remove the hand and leg pouches and hoodie. You can use another body I guess but this bosy is the red already so it saves tons of painting and makes him "playable"

Head: MU Classic Havok, my classic havoks arm broke off so I had an extra head. There's a seller on ebay that always has a bunch of loose havoks without the white headpiece for 7.99.

So from there just paint his arms and legs, and "V" on his chest and undies blue. The belt white. For his antannae I used those twisty ties that hold older ML figs in their packaging and just glued it to the hole in his head. The paint for his head was the liquitex basics cadnium red, its the same color as the MU scarlet spidey body.

That's pretty much it :)
