What MOTU figs are you looking for in 2012?

Hey guys with this years sub winding down and another great year of MOTU Classics on the horizon, what key character are you looking forward to in 2012? I would love to see the following:
Mekaneck
Ram man
Too Bad
More Snake men
Jitsu
Young King Randor
Mantena
Stinkor
Rio Blast
Modulok

MegsTriggerMan 09-07-2011 02:39 PM

Stinkor
Horde Trooper
would love a 2 pack of Skeletors Robot Knights but its not going to happen
RAM MAN!!
Spikor
Id like to also see a 2 pack of Elders with extra heads to make a council!

Cool. I didn't even think about a couple of those. I had 2 or 3 horde troopers as a kid and I loved them. They were like crash test dummies. I'm guessing there are not a lot of MOTU fans around here.:D

ludovicotek 09-08-2011 06:43 AM

STINKOR!!!!!! Please, Mattel, release Stinkor this year!!!!!!

CLASSIFIED 09-08-2011 06:49 AM

I'm not a big fan of the PoP figs, but am really looking forward to the 30th anniv. figs like Fearless Photog.

BAD MOON 09-08-2011 07:31 AM

Mekaneck
Ram man
Too Bad
Tung Lashor
Rattlor
Snake Face
Mantena
Rio Blast
Modulok
Horde Trooper
Extendar
Stone-Dar
and I think a New Adventures He-Man would look sweet.

I think a New Adventures He-Man is in the bag for 2012. Stinkor should be a no brainer once they decide to use the Mekaneck armor or tweek it a bit. I hope next year they will finish off the last of the truely classic characters.

I'm happy about that, because I would love this version of him.

I bet we'll get Ram-Man as the SDCC Exclusive next year. I'm positive we'll get either Ram Man or Mekaneck next year, but probably not both. I'd also like to see Frosta made.

ludovicotek 09-08-2011 02:02 PM

There's NO WAY Ram Man will be the exclusive. I know he requires a lot of tooling, but I just see them making such a major character an exclusive.

Oh I didn't know there was NO WAY haha. Sorry my error.

MegsTriggerMan 09-08-2011 02:52 PM

I understand them holding off on Ramman and Mekaneck and such ... I mean if you dontleave some core characters your going to have a a drop off of those casual collectors and their attention to the line ...

Now that Filmation figures are on the table, I think those bots are a pretty safe bet. They were a staple generic troop in the cartoon

True, I think I just want an excuse to stop collecting. Especially with them merging the entire Masters Universe into the line. I don't need any more Princess of Power figs and most filmation characters are nothing special. There are only a few core masters and Villians left to be made in my book.

This is true. If they limited articulation they should be able to pump these babies out fast and cheap

I would not put it past them to have one of those chararcters as the 2013 sub incentive fig my guess is on RAMMAN. lol

lol I'm just saying I'll be very shocked if they did that. BUT, it would definitely force more people to sign up for the club.

Queen Marlena was a neat exclusive this year, but I'm hoping for something a little more exciting next year. Who should we get as an SDCC exclusive next year? Maybe like Modulok or something?

That would be soo bad ass. I remember getting Modulok as a kid and loved the versatility of that toy. I never had Multybot but Modulok was great with all of his parts. He was like a lego. They could def do this for us in a cost effective manner. For it to be a SDCC exclusive would be fine with me. I wonder what would be different about the day of sale version? One could be assembled (SDCC) and one in pieces (day of).

I remember getting modulok as a kid and immediately losing pieces of him all over the house.

Hey, now that's a great idea!!! The extra tooling for him could be justified as an exclusive at a premium price.

CLASSIFIED 09-09-2011 11:52 AM

I agree with Modulok.

I never had him as a kid, but I bet he's a helluva lot of fun.

I'd also like Monstroid to be the next oversized beast.

Unfortunately with the recent Matty Q & A Toyguru mad it clear that all future characters right now were going to be the Classics body scuplt ... this was repeated a few times but not until the question of whether we could see Orkos Motak or other Trolla characters was it revealed what they meant ... with the budget getting geared down because of sub sales this year there will not be any non classic sculpts for figures ... so Robo Knights and Trolla characters and most likely anything like Multibot or Modulok are off the table right now because they arent the typical Classic body type.

Some new 2012 MOTUC figures were revealed at PowerCon. YES!!! We're getting Stinkor (April club)!!!!!!!!!!! Slushead (from NA, May club), Griffin (April beast) and convention exclusive Temple of Darkness Goddess. Looks like a straight up Sorceress repaint, but she looks pretty awesome to me. She will be available at all conventions Mattel attends in 2012 except for SDCC, which will get its own exclusive. Also, another image of PowerPunch He-Man showing a cool power-effect accessory.

They also mentioned Snake Mountain-themed stands will be coming in 2012 but no pics were shown.

They also showed off another of their 30th Anniversary figures: Spector. Don't care at all for this guy. I'm not buying into this 30th sub-line at all. I don't like any of the characters so far. And I hate Draego-Man. I don't think he looks like a MOTU character at all.

KshatriyaNZ666 09-28-2011 05:14 AM

Hey guys, simple opinions please. I'm thinking about signing up for Club Eternia 2012 and I've never signed up previously (I honestly never knew they were making Masters figures until I got wind of the DCUC vs MOTUC 2-Packs, so that's when I started collecting). Right now I've signed up for Club Infinite Earths and going to sign up for the 30th Anniversary sub. ('cause I was sure I'd like every figure - until Spector came along that is :( ).

So my question is: Anyone out there juggling this many subscriptions at once and not seeing it as overkill? I'm not really hating any figures that have been revealed so far, so I'll be happy to have'em all. I was also hoping that by signing up I'll lock in the current price of figs since they'll be hiking the prices for non-subbers and I was thinking it'll save me more money in the long run. I'm not familiar with how these subs work so any heads-up/warnings/pitfalls about anything that happens during an active sub would be appreciated.

ludovicotek 09-28-2011 06:19 AM

This is the first time signing up for the sub for me as well. But I do know that some characters have a nasty habit of selling out quick. Having to go to the Matty website the day of sale can be a pain sometimes with everybody trying to get on there at the same time. So the convenience of not having to deal with that and the lower price point are both pluses.
