DCUC Lightray... Why so expensive?
 

As the ToyArk community knows by now, the M3T4L V1KING enjoys making threads about his questions. And this thread is no exception. So, the thread is self explanatory. WHY IS LIGHTRAY SO EXPENSIVE!? Was the 2 pack insanely hard to find in the States or something? Because my Toys R Us a while back had like 20 of them and I passed on Lightray and Orion a good 5 times before it went on clearance and I decided to pick it up. A few weeks later, I check online and Lightray (and NOT ORION) is going for 70$+ on Ebay. What's up with that? Is Lightray like the MU Blade or what?

I don't remember seeing that set in person at all, ever...... so maybe you just had a stroke of Canadian luck.

Yeah, I've personally passed on it a few times. I don't know why it's so expensive. It could just be a recent thing because weeks ago, I saw a few packs on eBay for around $40 which is about average/high. Now I'm seeing it for around $80. Honestly, people will ask whatever they want for something it seems.

Really? That dude has been peg warming up here for so long. I do have one displayed and one it MOC. My girlfriend thinks he's to happy. We got this 2 pack and you guys didn't but you guys down there have gotten so much more to make up for it.

Never saw the 2-pack at retail here in the states. Plus Lightray's only appearance was in said 2-pack which was never re-released or whatnot...making him one of the more rare DCUC figures overall.

Funny enough though, I would've bought the pack more for the Orion with removable helmet.

I think they're just charging that much. Like I said, I've seen the set for $40.

I was kicking these down the aisle, there were so many of them at the time of their release. I grabbed the Azrael/Batgirl 2 pack and took a pss on the Orion/Lightray thinking Lightray would get released on a single card further down the road.

For what it's worth, I have never seen this particular 2-pack at retail here in the Chicago area, city or suburbs.

yeah I believe so that set is a Matty exclusive but if I could find it in store It would a grand old day lol

Same here- I know I passed on it a few times- always thinking "I cant believe that line is still going!"

I almsot wish I'd gotten in on it from the start...but, no. My wallet could not stand the strain of that and MU!

On eBay. Just watch for them. The current Buy It Nows are for impulse buyers.

The 2 pack was a Toys R Us exclusive. Not a MattyCollector exclusive. Just so everyone knows.
