QC or OCD?

Ok heres the deal,I picked up 2 darkhawks this weekend and let me tell you I have been wanting this figure for awhile,BUT,I noticed that each one had some kind of minor yet pressent paint error on the mask,so I figured oh well its fixable, but when I touched it up it seemed to not match the color dead on,then I noticed that there was some over spray on the visor(some silver edging on the red visor)way to tight of a space to try and touch up,so now I have this figure I really wanted and cant enjoy because the small yet visable paint errors have ruined it,so is it a qc problem or an ocd thing?

btw,the more closely I observe figures the more I notice the flaws vs the good aspects, what the hell lol,I never did this crap when I first started collecting,it was just fun then...

OCD :) just yanking your chain man i for one dont really mind a paint splatter here or there ive got a few figs that have a spot but in all honesty im not displaying them in a museum or planning to resell them they are for my enjoyment so ehh as long as spider-man isnt green and purple im ok...unless its a variant lol.

Do Boy 10-03-2011 03:23 PM

I say it's both lol.

I'd like to see pics of these QC probs. I've seen one that looks like they got over zealous with the blue paint wash.

It depends on how bad the paint apps are. If it's a little overspray on one very small spot that you have to look closely to see, then that's OCD. Also, it really doesn't help if you keep looking for flaws and nitpick the figure. It's only going to crank up your OCD to unbearable levels and you'll probably go and buy another one.

On the other hand, if they really are bad, then it could be QC. For example, let's say a beard is painted only on one side of the head or it's just flat out missing the app when the figure should have it, then that's QC. That kind of thing I can understand getting worked up about.

I will refrain from casting a vote until I see pics of the paint issues in question, assuming you want to post pics.

If both have something wrong with them than it is a quality control issue.

If what is wrong with them isn't that bad than you have obsessive cumpulsive disorder.

Just kidding, your expectations might be too high though.

Unless they're a complete mess you're probably being a little too critical. Sometimes I think people forget that they're paying $8 for these figures as opposed to $150 for a Hot Toys figure, or a $50 Revoltech figure. I'm not trying to make excuses for Hasbro, but you get what you pay for.

I myself am a bit OCD about QC but for the most part I feel I am owed better toys then what Im givin with there super lazy painting.
