Got a question about the upcoming ult. spidey

Has there been any pictures of it? I haven't seen any, and I don't know how it would differ from other spidermen, unless it was the miles costume.

Additionally what happened to paper bag spidey?

I had a third question, but I forgot what it was, if I remember i'll swap it with this sentence.

mikefavata 10-04-2011 04:38 PM

All I can see is that the eyes are painted differently.

Paper bag Spidey will supposedly be in a later wave (variant of Future Foundation Spider-Man).

I heard it was being saved for the Spider-man movie line.

I heard the Paperbag Spidey wasn't going to be made for MU but for ML instead. I don't remember where I heard it... So I may be going crazy.

Here he is!

Isnt that basically the same as the 2 pack with a little different paint scheme?

I think the hand is different, and as a Spidey fan, that hand makes the figure worth getting.

NoodleChow 10-04-2011 05:21 PM

i believe it's the bucky body. if the production version has that swivel hinged neck, i'd be kinda happy. but all those prototype bodies have the stuff hasbro cheaped out on earlier in the line.

omega145 10-04-2011 05:22 PM

I just realized there is no thigh swivel....is Hasbro serious????
They should have used the Scarlet Spider mold or the SDCC Spiderman mold.
This will be a peg warmer in no time.

NoodleChow 10-04-2011 05:27 PM

it's prolly cuz they wanted the shorter stature of the thigh swivel less bucky body. what they should have done from the start is make all the hip pegs be the same size so they could mix and match the parts. that way they'd be able to use the bucky body with the added thigh swivels from the scarlet spider type.

if they used the scarlet spider mold they would have to address the issue with his leg falling off. I heard lots of people having that problem.

Do Boy 10-04-2011 05:49 PM

That Spider-man seems like a waste of a figure spot.

That kind of depends on how many figures they sell.

Kids love Spiderman a lot more than they love Sharon Carter, who happens to be a figure I want made but probably won't happen. (cue old thread bump)

I never once had that problem with the Scarlet Spider and he's the only figure I have holding on to the shelf above my Marvel Universe shelf with his legs wrapped around the poles in my Detolf cabinet.

quinten182 10-05-2011 06:21 AM

I wanted a true to size, huge eyed, ultimate spidey with super sdcc style articulation.. otherwise the other 14 spidermans released are just as good.. with better posing even!

CLASSIFIED 10-05-2011 06:22 AM

I want a fig of the new Ultimate Spidey.

There are like 12 other books that have Peter Parker in them, aren't there?

I miss Miguel O'Harra.

Just pretend the new costume has Peter in it, and make mine Marvel.

Excelsior!

Optimus Vader 10-05-2011 06:45 AM

I have no idea what is different about this Spidy. Just the one hand? I can live without the swivel thighs, but would really like some better ankles. It's a little weird that they make better joints for certain characters (Cable, Dr. Strange), yet they don't use them on their most popular character.

Someone sell me their Showdown Spidy.

Nexodusrex 10-05-2011 06:48 AM

I'm going to reserve judgement untill I see final production stills

thats still a prototype.

It's just not the same Peter. Ultimate Peter Parker is different from 616 version.

Do Boy 10-05-2011 07:01 AM

I could definitively go without this Spider-Man

If I could find my piece of trash Showdown Spidey, I'd sell it to you. I'm actually excited about this new one, even though I hate to encourage Hasbro to add him to more waves. There's just something different about it, and it clicks with me. I just hope they add thigh swivels and it doesn't have the Scarlet Spider hip problems.

Me too. I personally love the Ultimate universe, so if they did give this one swivel thighs then I'll pick it up. If it's just the hand and smaller eyes that make this figure different... I may have to pass. And I hate passing on Ultimate figures.
