Deadpool fix

http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...s/DSCN0215.jpg

Head: XMO Deadpool
Upper arms: XMO Deadpool
Forearm: 2-pack Deadpool
Thighs: Scarlet Spider
Lower Legs: 2-pack Deadpool.

In addition, I added a holster from MU Winter Soldier and a swivel hinge neck by drilling a big crater in the neck and embedding an elbow joint from my scrap bin.

Joints are all rather loose and the hands won't hold weapons well, so I guess it's got some minor work left, but not too much.

BigHanksCustoms 10-10-2011 02:56 PM

That's great looking! The added webgear and holster fit him well.

As for the hands, heat 'em in some hot water and pinch them tighter while they cool. The joints are as easy as some superglue, clear nail polish, or Future. You know what to do! Bring it to the finish line!

NoodleChow 10-10-2011 03:00 PM

nice work, boba. i'd say the hinged neck needs to be a staple for any figure. and wait, so you cracked open the lower torso and put the T bar in there?

Boba Fettuccini 10-10-2011 03:13 PM

@BigHank: Yeah, that's what I intend to do. Probably the same deal with the hip to. It fits the t-bar loosely, so I think I might be able to heat and squish that one too.

@Noodle: I agree. And yes.

Id just change the webbing on the XMO version and its good to go IMO. Once I had the 2 pack MU Deadpool in hand, I had no idea why people were preferring the MU version over the XMO version as I thought it was a much better figure in almost every way minus the giant sword holster.

Boba Fettuccini 10-10-2011 03:51 PM

Because the belt/shoulder harness is better, the face is more comic accurate in terms of his expression, and the hands have more character. XMO one can't hold any of his accessories at all, and they look stupid. The only thing that's better about the XMO one is the head.

omega145 10-10-2011 04:07 PM

I disagree. I prefer the slightly darker paint on the XMO Deadpool and dont like those silly champagne pinkies on the MU version. Just my opinion.

Boba Fettuccini 10-10-2011 04:45 PM

The XMO paint isn't really noticeably different. My fix is a hodgepodge of both and you can't tell unless you pull out a jewelers lens or something :P

Do Boy 10-10-2011 11:17 PM

Very nice little touches.

rustyrob 10-11-2011 12:25 AM

wow nice fix up
100% better
wish i can do the same...alittle scared to break open my deapool
did you have to paint the leg to make it a darker red? if so what paint did u use?
great job on the web gear

Boba Fettuccini 10-11-2011 01:51 AM

Nope. The leg plastic matches almost perfectly. The difference is very subtle.

jimsloth 10-11-2011 05:26 AM

There are two XMO Deadpools. One from the single pack that is a good bit darker (and I like best colorwise), one from the giant gun pack that was about one and a half times as expensive that is a much closer color match (to both the new comic pack and the scarlet spider). If anyone is scared to do the hip mod I posted a tutorial about a month ago.
