Episode 1 blows, they should have started with Strikes Back.

That would have been a really weird place to start.

Why, hasn't everyone already seen all the movies?

My son's 8, he came out after all of them. He' seen all of them many, many, times over.

My GF has not seen a single one. and neither has my best friend. I could maybe understand starting at IV. Either way, George Lucas will not be getting my money for this.

If that's the case, then I don't think Episode 1 would be the best instalment to expose them to the franchise.

You should take them to see Revenge and Strikes Back, those ones rock socks off.

Do Boy 10-14-2011 06:31 AM

Oh I'm not wasting money on these films lol. If they want to see them They can watch my blu rays. I HATE 3D movies.

CLASSIFIED 10-14-2011 06:34 AM

I think 3D makes movies better, especially Avatar.

Its like you're "in" the movie, but I know you're really not.

Well I'm not hating just because. But I have seen 3 3D movies. All of which did not make me feel like I was in the movies at all. And On top of that The glasses are very awkward for me because I wear glasses.

CLASSIFIED 10-14-2011 06:39 AM

Do you have to wear the 3D glasses over your regular glasses?

miketime 10-14-2011 06:39 AM

I bet it's a lot harder to convert the old moves to 3d than it is to convert the newer ones. I was forced to see the Loin King in 3D and I don't know what all the fuss was about. It was my first time seeing the movie and thought it did not add much to it.

Yes I have tried with out it. It's blurry as if I wasn't wearing my glasses.

Yes. This!!! 1/3 of the movies I watched was a remake into 3D. And there was next to no 3d affects at all.

You should invent 3D glasses for people with glasses, like a clip on or something, and then use the money to get a Marvel Digital Subscription.

hahaha my girls actually told me that I should do something like that. Or stop being lazy and put my contacts in lol

CLASSIFIED 10-14-2011 06:54 AM

I bet the pod race scene would be pretty bitch'n in three dimensions.

Do Boy 10-14-2011 08:07 AM

Well If I hear good things about Star Wars in 3D I may check out episode IV for the death star trench scene.

Nexodusrex 10-14-2011 08:14 AM

only one I plan on seeing is Empire Strikes back. Its the only star wars film I've never seen in theaters.

Would rather see it without 3D. 3D is a fad and a dumb one

100% Agreed

Nexodusrex 10-14-2011 08:26 AM

exactly. I mean, I own a 3DS. but the 3D is taped off.

tlasjr 10-14-2011 09:31 AM

I agree this is just a money grab, hence the release of the blu rays so next we get the 3d blurays.
I dont think 3d is a fad though. Its just being damaged by things like Clash of the Titans which was filmed in 2d and converted in less than 60 days.
Lucas has been working on this for years and will be releasing them in order 1 a year. I have high hopes that it wont be as slgpdash as Clash or superman returns.
oh, and they are starting to rerease3d tvs which dont require glasses.

behindthemask 10-14-2011 10:30 AM

I must say 3D movies, tv. gaming is the big "hype/fad" the tv's are pricey, the bluerray players are pricey same with the actual movies themselves. It's the same thing when dvd's came out and blurrays, they were expensive as hell, but 1-2-3 yrs down the road you can buy a dvd player for $20 and dvd's for $4 at walmart. Everything will regulate and come back to the norm, untill they come out with something else! such as 4d a picture so clear it actually touches you haha. I've seen my fair share of 3d movies, Avatar was the best mind you I was on drugs but still. Some movies create scenes especially to take advantage of the 3d feature like explosions, or throwing weapons or reaching towards the camera. So movies have only the background 3d while the actors stay normal, and others it's all 3d. I like seeing Starwars remastered and brought to life on blurray, but 3d is a lil much, it's mainly the studios saying we got a product that sells, lets add 1 minor detail and re-release it in the theatres and make a butt load of $$. Only way I can see this having any good impact is if the proceeds from ticket sales went to charity, but can't see it.

TomsToyChest 10-14-2011 03:01 PM

I guess I'm the oddball here but I'm not planning on seeing any of the Star Wars films in 3D in the theaters. I prefer to wait for the Blu-Rays to hit and watch movies in my home without distraction.

However, I do disagree with much of behindthemask's post. I don't think the Blu-Ray market is as pricey as he thinks it is for the reasons outlined below:

1. 3D Blu-Ray players aren't all that pricey. I got one made by Sony earlier this year from Best Buy for just over $100. I've seen some for well under $100 recently.

2. 3D movies aren't that expensive. Thor was $25 at Wal-Mart for its 3D version. Tron Legacy was pricey at about $50, but the original film was included in the package so I didn't think the price was outrageous. And, I'll be picking up the 3D version of Captain America when it comes out at the end of the month.

3. Some of the older release Blu-Ray discs have come down in price. I've seen some of them for about $10, and recently bought a copy of Species on Blu-Ray for just over $7 off of Amazon, including shipping.

I will say that the only 3D item that's out of my reach are the TV's themselves. But they are dropping in price so I'll just wait it out for the 3D TV as I'm in no hurry to upgrade. And as a bonus my movie library is future-proofed with the 3D films when I do upgrade.

Spacemafia 10-14-2011 03:20 PM

Not getting my money.....

The blu rays are already out. Or are you talking about the 3D Blu-Ray?
