What is up with the Strict Signature Rules?
 

I just cant understand the strict Signature Rules on this forum. I was editing my signature and I couldnt do anything beyond a single line, which I just dont understand why its so strict here.

Its like last month, when suddenly my signature that I had carried with pride for over a year was replaced by a bold red Moderator Text because it didnt fit the dimensions. Happened to alot of us here.

I just dont understand it. I mean, Look at Hisstank. On Hisstank I have my old Signature, and an XBOX Live Signature. Theres Signatures of every shape and size, with multiple banners. While I understand its a different website, it still uses the same graphical template.

So What gives?

As long as they are consistent across the board in this forum then I am okay with rule enforcement.

well I'm not talking giant banners a mile high and wide. my thing was nothing like that. it got deleted cause it was marginally taller than what was allowed, and I just want to know why?

Im guessing they are going for a cleaner/ less cluttered look here.. IMO Hisstank gets to be too much..looks like a clown threw up on the page sometimes.

Because it's the rules. Also could be IT related like the picture takes up too much on the server?

I think you just answered your own question in the first part of the sentence. It's fair across the board here. Hisstank is the same family, it doesn't mean its going to be run the same way. Different mods run sites differently.

If you need me to edit down your sig so it's within the limits I will gladly do it for you.

and your sig cant be a specific text length either. I had to keep editing a picture previously just so I could use it as a Signature, and I ended up scrapping that completely. Cant use my XBOXLive gamer sig like on Hisstank and TFW2005, cause its too long. Which sucks cause I want to game with some of you guys.

But a Blanket deletion of it without a warning to me personally to change it myself, and leaving a nasty red text all to see for a few simple margins?

If you or anyone else could edit mine to max sig rules, I would greatly appreciate it. It's why I haven't done so yet, it is greatly different from TFW.

FYI, this was the banner that wasnt allowed. is this so bad? might I add its Shorter than Solid Wii's. it was cause of the 26 extra pixels?
my original one on hisstank was actually bigger, but the mods were nice enough to send me a message saying it was too big instead of a blanket deletion with no warning.

yours is 300 by 226. so your height is 26 pixels too much.

That's a problem I had. I wanted to add text to mine & could not. Use the sig to promote trades and such. It just must be the rules.

I got one of those your sig is to big not to long ago and was like wtf so I fixed it but if it was too big why did the site accept it from the start? IDK I do think they were just trying to clean things up but it was odd to see the message and not my sig. Now I need to find something short and long to use up all this space. croping a normal pic to fit look odd now.

I didnt want to edit it though. I wanted to have a blanket banner covering my hisstank and toyark accounts. cant do that.
and my current gripe is I cant add text after my banner because of the crazy strict rules. Cant post a bst link, or a feedback link, ect ect. its strict. very strict. and I would like the mods to tell me just why it is so and if we can see about change.
Would you guys mind if the signatures were more lax in rules? Course not unless you get offended and I doubt that'll happen.

exactly! you had that signature forever also and suddenly BAM! Got hit without even a warning.

You know what that tells me, someone complained about the size. I had the same thing happen on another site, same sig for like a year, one day, gone. All because of another member wanting to be an ass and I'll just leave it at that.

There is a way to make your sig pic clickable but people need to know to click it...

nope. cant. because you can only have so much text in your sig. I tried. good lord did I try.

a single kilobyte is nothing, let alone 3. I would say it would be a problem like, 12 years ago, but this is the future and we all have high speed internet that can handle a single kilobyte with no problem

put your mouse cursor over my sig pic...and click.

probably because your signature is on toyarks albums. but now youd have to change your signature to let people know "Click this for BST" and you can only do it once. I want 3 links
