Should Classics have vintage action features?
 

Should the MOTU Classics line carry on the tradition of incorperating action feature elements of the original line into it in your opinions? You all know...stuff like Mosquitors "Blood" pump, Optiks eye (which they kinda did), Cyclones original "spin" feature, ect.?

I dont know about yall but I was a bit disappointed to just get Cyclone with a red dial molded on his belt. What do yall think? Should the line be so focused on looking good that they ignore some of the things that made the vintage line great,? What exaxtly is most important here?

Personally I think as a whole Mattel has struck a good balance for the most part. But with some characters the action feature makes the figure and cannot be leftout.

Sure, why not?

If they could incorporate action features without hurting articulation, then I say go for it.

Case in point, Leach's suction cups could have easily have worked.

Here's the thing I find hilarious with these threads:
For YEARS (and years and years and years) the collector community has perpetually railed AGAINST action features in any shape or form, regardless the brand.

Hell, the lack of action features was a big selling point IIRC for the early adopters of MOTUC

Action features, by their very nature, are intended to get a kid's interest in a toy (hell, Hasbro's even brining back AFs in the revamped Saga Legends line due next year for STar WArs), as adult collectors, that need is basically irrelevant.
Most collectors will buy the toy, pose it (maybe), put it on a wall, and never touch it.

I don't see a need for action features in that environment, and it would only serve to add to Mattel's costs for a line they aren't too big on putting money into to start with.

Well personally for me its about a feeling of nostalgia man. If a guy who used to have a toy like Cyclone as a kid picks up the new one off his shelf from time-to-time any simular action feature may remind him of what he had. Therefore makeing him feel kinda good. Thats the biggest appeal in AF's for adults I think. So..."no" , I dont think they are irrelevant at all.
