Franchise Licenses

(Thread take two. Stupid browser ate the last one. This thread's gonna suck compaired to the original, trying to remember what all I said)

Couple things got me thinking tonight, one of them being someone recently posting that he wished Toybiz (Whom I think doesn't even go by that name anymore?) would get the Marvel rights back.

What toy companies have lost licenses that you wish could get them back? What companies do you think could handle a property differently, or better than the one that has it?
And in a round about way, what companies do you wish should never *ever* produce another toy for that franchise again?

I've said many times, and I know a lot of people here agree, no matter what they think about the other side of the fence. The dream team would be Hasbro and Mattel sharing the Marvel and DC license, and focus on what they do best. Hasbro making Marvel and DC toys in the 3.3/4" scale only, while Mattel does the same in the 6" line.

Back in the day, I always wanted to see Hasbro give the TF license to MacFarlane Toys, to make non-transfoming TF figures. Mainly a line based on the Pretender shells, and maybe the macfarlane monster take on some of the beast modes, like the Dinobots, Predacons, Terrorcons, and Seacons.

I'd also love to see Hasbro get the license for Jurassic Park back. Create a strong storyline behind it (More than just the random generic "trappers" from the old days), and make the humans in the 3.3/4" joe style scale, while making the dinosaurs in scale to them.
There hasn't been a strong quality dinosaur action figure line since the JP2, and Chaos Effect lines.
And if not JP, I would love to see them aquire the rights to Dinoriders and resurrect that.

And I'd also love to see the same for ALIENS, too. (I guess I give Hasbro a lot of love in this reguard because ever sense Kenner, they've always done awesome animal toys.)

Playmates used to make awesome Star Trek toys. I mean, they still hold up pretty well even now. But their line for the last movie was so halfassed, unless they do a complete 180, I don't ever want to see them with it again. In this case, I think Mattel would be completely awesome with it. Give the starships to Hotwheels, and let's see the 4H take a crack at the aliens for a 6" line. Mattel could focus movies at retail when movies comes out, and then fill out the rest with a subscription.

That is a neat "what if" -having Mattel make all the Marvel and DC 6" figures and Hasbro doing the same with 4". We all know it will never happen but it is fun to imagine.

The only company I can think of that I would like to see take on an existing franchise would be Palisades. I don't think they are around anymore and it is a shame. Their Muppets toys were top notch.
