The hardest you've fallen for a toyline?

So just curious her, but which of the toylines out there have you fallen for in a big way?

Transformers is my main collection, but I'd only really collected one or two figures here and there... But when the Classics toys hit, I was hooked right from the get go! After I brought the first couple of figures (Mirage and Grimlock), I was always scouting out for the new releases. I don't know what it is, perhaps the nostalgia factor, but every time I see the latest releases from the Classics line, I can't wait until I see them in stores.

I think I'm also going the same way with Lego... Ever since the Minifigs started coming out, I can't help but go through and try find one that I need! ^^;

Tiberius 11-22-2011 12:31 PM

I have fallen for almost every S.H Figuarts figure I have seen, they just look amazing.

Xcaliber037 11-22-2011 01:05 PM

It's definitely Classics. With marvel and DC it's just my fave characters or a particular team. But the Classics have me. Now why on earth haven't they released Trailbreaker/Hoist? I'm trying to complete the autobots! I do try and buy Optimus Prime as well.

D00MTR0N 11-22-2011 01:11 PM

never a toyline but certain figures.

omega145 11-22-2011 01:49 PM

threeA, i've decided to sell off a bulk majority of my other collections and jump ship to these awesome figures.

ersico 11-22-2011 02:04 PM

1 yr ago. glyos caught my attention and i became addicted and still am..recenty. ehem!^^^^^
ThreeA has seemed to be taking over my finances :)

They did do Trailbreaker (Or Trailcutter as he's known for trademark reasons) in a Legends size... Not a bad figure, but we definitely need at least a Deluxe.

warmachine6 11-22-2011 03:07 PM

mine has to be marvel legends i think simply cause as a kid i like the size of 6 inch figures and had lots of spiderman , simply at the time cause they were fun to play with now i have many 6 inch figures and repect the detail as well as the articulation

TomsToyChest 11-22-2011 03:20 PM

Last year and early this year it was Tron Legacy. I got the figures, deluxe vehicles, die-casts and deluxe ID discs.

This summer it was the Captain America TFA movie line figures. There were some interesting takes on Cap plus the villains looked interesting too.

behindthemask 11-22-2011 03:27 PM

Hot toys is definatley something I want to jump on, lucky enough to get myself 1 and they're amazing, pricey so collecting them all is out of my range/limitations. MU is something I've been falling pretty hard for and have been buying the most of. 3A will always have a soft spot for me.

Symbiote 11-22-2011 03:31 PM

For me, pretty much anything hasbro puts out, I buy into. My main one is marvel universe.Transformers, GI joe are second. I did collect some halo figures when halo 3 and reach came out. I consider the movie line marvel figures as marvel universe since they are similar.

solo0525 11-22-2011 03:41 PM

actually It was gi joe 25th .. that sparked my interest in ARAH gi joe .. and I went crazy collecting vintage .. and from there I got hooked on vintage toys

CLASSIFIED 11-22-2011 03:49 PM

GI Joe is the love of my life, but I fell hard for the Super Powers collection.

The fabric capes with those clips that hugged their necks. Their awesome power actions.

That yellow Hall of Justice, the Batmobile, Darkseid's Destroyer, and who could forget Kalibak's Cruel Crusher?

Every Saturday morning I would pour myself a bowl of Lucky Charms, turn on some Saturday morning cartoons, and pull out my plastic tubs of Super Powers action figures. Those may have been the happiest days of my life.

I'll never forget, one year for my birthday my grandmother got what looked like one of those flat white card board boxes that usually had clothes in them, but to my surprise the complete 2nd series of the Super Powers collection was in side.

I don't know where you are Nonna, but wherever you are; thanks for making me the happiest boy alive.

I love you Super Powers Collection.

Wow CLASSIFIED, that is a really great story... Thanks for sharing that!

Near the end of the line I remember finding the entire final wave at K Mart for $1 each on clearance.

I had them all in my hand and was ready to buy them when my brother talked me out of it. I think he said something like they weren't going to make any more of those if they were on clearance and that I would regret buying them in a few months because maybe I didn't play with my Super Powers toys as much at that point, but I don't really remember.

I guess he was right, but I still have most of my old Super Powers toys, and it would have been nice to have all of them.

Damn you Derek! Why did you talk me out of buying them? Why?

Just kidding, D... I forgive you.

You know a toyline is good when you want almost everything you see and have NO IDEA what any of it is.

Oh and this =3

Gothitropolos by the Four Horsemen... I'm willing to spend a lot of money on these, and I haven't even had one in my hands before. Tiberius already posted a pic, but here's another.

Well, technically I would say Transformers, because I've been collecting them since 1984 and own at least one toy from every iteration of the brand from '84 to present (excluding toddler toys like Rescue Bots and My 1st Transformers).

But that's the primary focus of my toy collecting as well, so I can't really break it down into specific lines within the brand.

As for a non-TF toy line that I fell hard for, it would be Marvel Universe. I was hooked from wave one.

BlackMagnus 11-23-2011 04:34 PM

Animated and Classics (RTS, Universe, Generations) by far.

Kiddcade 11-26-2011 07:51 AM

Marvel Universe.

It's dififcult because 1). I'm a DC Fanboy and 2). I'm a Transformers collector. all I had to begin with was a Fury Files Cap I got for christmas, and the first release fo XMOW Deadpool. But in the past month and a half I've bought up Scarlet spider, Blacksuit Spidey, X-23, X-Force 3pack, Shadowcat, Cable, Doctor Strange, Doctor Doom...

I even bought GI Joe Renegades Duke JUST for his head so I could put it on Scarlet Spider.

BlackMagnus 11-26-2011 10:02 PM

Oh yeah, don't know how I forgot this one- NECA Predators

Tiberius 11-26-2011 10:03 PM

So I have fallen hard for S.H Figuarts DBZ figures and Kamen Riders and D-Arts Megaman X figure and that new Terry Bogard figure from Fatal Fury. Yea, all happens to be Japanese stuff too haha.

Darkspeed 11-27-2011 04:21 AM

Yep, I can definitely confirm I have fallen for Lego minifigs... Finding it increasingly more difficult to not search for new figs, and even spent a time browsing online for old sets!

I'm kinda afraid of starting to collect SHF Kamen Rider guys... I have a feeling it'll bankrupt me! ^^;

Galactus 12-04-2011 10:19 PM

MU by far, TFs used to be my main thing, now...not so much.

Jmacq1 12-05-2011 05:54 AM

The SOTA Street Fighter line. I was pretty obsessively hunting these down when they were still being made.
