I noticed a few of the Universal Monsters figures that were put out by Sideshow Collectibles. Are they affiliated with each other?

Shin Densetsu 12-05-2011 09:13 AM

Man that's beast that they have their own store.

Sideshow brings over some of Hot Toys' releases for domestic sale. I'm guessing Hot Toys does the same for Sideshow in Asia.

Hot Toys occasionally partners with some North American companies like sideshow and Gentle Giant to release things in Japan.

malcontentman 12-05-2011 10:30 AM

Wow, you would never see a physical brick and mortar Hot Toys store like that in the States. I Love Japan sometimes.

...and see what your saying about the SideShow stuff. SideShow definitely has money invested in this store.

that batmoblie is sick but I have a question it had the accurate 2 seats but can it hold 2 figures in it?? I just dont know

r3v3n63 12-05-2011 11:33 AM

This place is amazing! It would be so cool just to hang out there for a bit and get to see all those figures first hand.

What's up with the Shogun Warriors, old school Indy and Aliens figs?

FancyPants 12-05-2011 12:12 PM

Going to japan.

nomad1632 12-05-2011 03:22 PM

I think the old toys are kinda like their mini history look back at toys that inspired their movie lines or how they advanced since then.

Xcaliber037 12-05-2011 03:45 PM

Yea I so have to check out Japan. If I remember correctly there's another place there with all sorts of transformers on display. This is just sick

nomad1632 12-05-2011 04:25 PM

we need a Japanese mega store in the states where we can get our fixes without spending tons on shipping and the waiting!!!!

Even if they just had one in NY, and one in LA I would go check it out. May be have one in Tronto too for our folks up North. But I doubt they would have all those figures in the front display windows like that in North America or it would be smash and grab all day. :D

I know. That is a little surpring now that SideShow has the DC license. I guess other than the Hot Toys licensed Batman/Superman movie stuff shown, it is too early for to show to roll out any finished DC products. By the time the Joker PF and new Batman Bust are shipped, I am sure there will be a lot more SideShow DC stuff showing up for display.

DogFashionDisco 12-05-2011 10:34 PM

That store just embodies all of the stuff I'd own if I were rich. I have just a couple Hot Toys figures and nice stash of Sideshow ones, but nothing pales in comparison to their displays. I may have drooled a bit when I looked at the pictures. I'm pretty sure I have some extra Joker parts laying around in a box somewhere from the Hot Toys Dark Knight release, if anyone is interested I can do some digging. I was obsessed when they came out, and despite the fact that I owned a complete figure I bought enough individual parts to pretty much build another one.

I've got some unopened 12 in. Reservoir Dogs figures too, made by Palisades I think.

pud333 12-05-2011 11:29 PM

Dang. Look at 'em geeks. All they're missing is some bubble tea.

cabrican 12-07-2011 09:15 AM

12 years ago I was wandering through (zona viva) Guatemala City and stumbled past some store whose inside resembled the star wars cantina--full replica. there where tons of star wars toys, dioramas, all kinds of neat stuff. Unfortunetly, the store was closed and I only got to see the cool stuff through the window. I went back the following month but never was able to find the store. I wondered if it was a retail store or just a fans personal collection of star wars toys. the store in japan looks cool but it looks more like a museum.
