Blake Lively in Green Lantern
Holy Lord.
so i watch Green Lantern On Demand this evening, never cared to see it otherwise. It was between that, "The Debt" and "The Conspirator." Because it was late, and decided I'd rather watch fluff than have to think about conspiracy or WW2 History, I went with GL. I have a new fave female celebrity. Blake Lively looked so freakin ridiculously hot it gave me a migraine. OMG. Love her. Tops as a brunette because I just googled her and all her pix are blonde, and she looks cutish, but with the dark hair? Holy crap. She just replaced Quorra...err Olivia Wilde.. as my #1. Out! |
Not exactly winning any acting awards in that movie though.
Still...her hotness only made me want to smack Reynolds more- the whole movie fails because you never come to like Hal Jordan- he's an ass that blows everything and yet has a great job, awesome apartment, hot woman loving him and then gets the ultimate weapon, can fly, etc. Hell, you only feel sympathy for Hector hammond and he's supposed to be the villian! |
Fap fap fap! :D you should have seen her naked pics ;D
|
That was Blake Lively!?
I thought it was an animatronic puppet! |

But yeah, I was like, "this movie is sooo about Ryan Reynolds." It reminds me of "The Town." Written, directed and starring Ben Affleck. And he was the only guy who came out on clean on-top. It was like, "I want to write a movie where I'm the smartest, collest motherf**ker in the whole thing." eh. |

Personally, I can't wait until she joins the Star Sapphire Corps.
Though, I think this movie would have done much better had they cast Nathon Fillion (and saved Renolds for Kyle Rayner) instead. Carol likewise needed someone with more presence. While I enjoyed the movie for what it was (Instead of hate it for what it isn't, like most people), I do wish it had been focused on Hal, Sinestro, and Carol. But yes. Blake Lively is indeed a gorgeous woman. So much better than Megan Fox (So glad that fad is over. I can't stand her). |
I don't think Nathon Fillion is that big of a box office draw.
I think the movie would have done better if it was a little more entertaining. The whole sub plot with Hector Hammond got in the way of the Parralax plot, or vice versa. |
Let me clarify. I chose a poor choice or words. By "done better," I don't mean box office take. I ment it would have been received better, both critically and by fans.
Though, I feel that too many people place too much faith in what actor is attached to what project, and if said actor is popular enough to be a big "draw." Especially by the studios. After all... Star Wars used a bunch of no-named unknown actors... and that film did decently enough. As for the film's content, I agree that like Spiderman 3, it had too much going on that nothing got the time it deserved. I personally could have lived without either hammond or parallax. Even being a bretty big GL fan, I'd not yet heard of Hammond before this movie. And Parallax is one of those larger than life event things that if not done eactly right in a live action setting, would be aweful and beyond stupid. While I do think it was handled well enough (It was a scary concept), it seems like it would have been better for a second or third movie (Maybe the Sinestro Corps unleashed it). Like I said, I think the focus of the movie should have been over Hal, Carol, Sinestro, and the concept. Hammond would have made a decent enough villain to keep the story moving. So yeah, I guess it's Parallax that took away from what the movie should have been. |
Nathon Fillion is overated.
I hated that movie Waitress. I think Ryan Reynolds did a good job in GL, the movie sucked because of what you said; Spiderman 3 syndrome. Though, I must admit; I liked Spiderman 3. I thought it was balls. In GL, they should have got Micsha Barton to play Carol Ferris. She's a way better actress than Blake Lively IMO. |
I saw this myself for the first time last night. Bloody awful.
The Good:
The Bad:
I really like Green Lantern, but the script for this movie was a huge mistake. There is too much back-story with the corps & Ferris Aircraft and Hal to introduce the government/alien, Hector, Guardian, yellow ring, and Parallax subplots. Can't they just start in the middle and give people some credit and assume that we know that earth's Green Lantern is a cocky bad ass? |
A radial patter towards Oa is sorta in keeping with the population density of the DCU, so smaller sectors still require more work to maintain- Earth being in 2814 means that it's mostly empty of worlds with spaceflight.
Good thing too- otherwise Hal would really suck at his job, as he spends so much time on Earth! Personally, I think they should have gone with Kyle's story- guy leaves bar, alien give him a ring and zero instructions and his girl gets stuffed into a refrigerator. |
I'm glad I saw it for free on the big screen during a sneak preview. I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much paying for it :P
Def. agree the story moved way too fast. |
It's a fun movie to watch though. Blake Livley helps a lot with that. Best part was the end where sinestro turns all yellow.the fight scenes were good but not enough of them.
|
I was pretty let down. It needed more Sinestro.
|
We do not approve of the Green Lantern movie.

I don't think there will be a sequel anytime soon, if ever. It just wasn't good, and Ryan Reynolds is a piece of shit. Period. For a movie that cost so much to make, they fucked it up beyond belief. There are endless stories already written (comics) and history shows that DC movies depend on having the right actor (Christian Bale vs. eh, George Clooney for example).

Jack BLack as Green Lantern. I shit you not, they were going to go for a Austin Powers kinda superhero. Fans got wind of that and flipped the hell out- killing the whole thing. So we got Ryan Reynolds...it's not so bad as it could be, man! |
I still own it because, well, I love Green Lantern in general. Wearing the lazy pants as we speak... Anyways, I would of done things differently and done more awsome cameos and just make it better. I think a Green Lantern movie with Guy Gardner would be a lot better than one with Hal...

Again, Blake Lively looks incredible as a brunette.

From what I've seen of the film so far, Blake reminds me of a more attractive version of Megan Fox. Sort of like Rosie Huntington-Whitely (Carly from DOTM).
Haven't seen enough to judge the film as a whole yet. Waiting to pick it up on DVD cheap. It's a comic-based movie, so naturally I must own it. Even if it does suck (hello Batman & Robin). Quote:
