damn this looks 1000 times better then the metal version from the first movie.

why was this passed on for the metal look? this is as close to the comic they could have got. would have been gud in the movie

I agree! omg!

I guess Sam Raimi had something against seeing movement in the mouth what the characters were dressed up!

In the cartoons, you could always tell that spiderman was talking because you could see the chin and yaw moving, but in the movies.. nothing...

The metal goblin armor had a real world application so it was more believeable that Osborn would develope it before becomming a super villian as compared to an actual Goblin suit which would be harder to justify to investors like the US millitary.

Holy shit that's incredible! the facial expressions...it would have been the best film ever, damnit!

It's a great make-up job, that's for certain. And it is *definately* more comic accurate.
And while I don't like the Power Rangers looking helmet they went with, I can't jump to the conclusion this is better.

The problem a lot of comic fans don't seem to reguard is comic accuracy isn't better. Unlike with animation, when you go into live action, real world rules begin to apply. Classified is absolutely correct in his statement about the real world applications for the movie goblin armor. Osborn was using equipment and armor his company designed and created for military applications. Like Classified said, it would be a hard sell for him to try to convence any agency to perchase a glorified halloween mask.
On top of that, Osborn didn't really have the time to outright create anything new on par with this mask.
Plus, it's such a good make-up job, it would look to the audience like the guy morphed into this creature, and it's totally not believable as a separate helmet/mask thing.
While I wished they had gone with a different design for the helmet than they did, there's just no believability behind this, in a live action setting, for the story they were trying to tell.

THAT said, it would have worked really well for "New" Goblin in the third film, or for Hobgoblin.

I agree with Crazy Jetty.
