Silver Age
 

I am right now buying a lot of Marvel Silver Age books right now but I am thinking of branching out. I do want some House of Mystery with the Martian Manhunter but what other books really stand out? I used to have a few of them and some were a little corny so I am hoping for good stuff.

Any suggestions or favorite issues.

I just finished reading the Secret Society of Super Villains vol 1 trade as well as Jack Kirby's Fourth World Omnibus vol1 and both were stellar.

What was the Secret Society about?

Darkseid puts together a group of Super Villains to help him take over the world but they team up to stop him instead because he is the greater threat.

Sounds like it might be nice. Trying to be diverse in what I am getting.

The Silver Age is my favorite age in comics.

Suicide Squad was pretty good too.

Do you like camp?

I like the colors the best, if you know what I mean.

I was thinking of getting some Silver Detective or Batman.

There are a bunch of artist specific trades out their now.

I would suggest Marshall Rogers or holding out for Jim Aparo.

Which did they write? I bought the Justice League archives vol one but haven't looked at them yet. Might be the way I get the, for now.

Batman and Detective, but they were the artists.

I will have to give them a look. I have seen a few old Detectives and they ranged from great to suck but that is the way it is.

Aparo's isn't out yet (the trade I mean).

When that coming out? I will have to see if Mike can find it for me. he has a great selection.
