Which Grayskull did you like better?

The Vintage Grayskull

http://hk.geocities.com/luijohnson20...ull_inside.jpg

or the 2000 line's version

Personally I like the Vintage one better. I had Hours and hours of fun playing with that that. Plus it looks better visually to me.

Da_Last_2_Walk 11-25-2008 12:40 PM

The Ol' School Grayskull of course!!!

Chosen 11-25-2008 02:36 PM

I like the way the modern version took a lot of cues from the vintage Grayskull in its shape and arrangement of windows and towers. You provided pictures of it from the front when opened, how about the back and its accessories?

MegaPrime33 11-25-2008 03:15 PM

Definitely the vintage. I loved that elevator thing.

Weirdwolf 11-25-2008 03:23 PM

Vintage all the way!!!

Sol Fury 11-25-2008 03:26 PM

Never had either, though both look like a lot of fun.

Ktulu 11-25-2008 09:37 PM

I like the crisper look of the new one from the outside, but it has a lot against it since it was released in a time where big playsets are pretty much dead. You can't deny the original as an absolute classic.

trebleshot 11-25-2008 09:42 PM

Old school Grayskull all the way. The newer one looked like the rest of the head is too small for the mouth/drawbridge gimmick to look right to me.

kaeae 11-25-2008 11:12 PM

oh god many a nights as a child did i woke up in cold sweat shouting BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL.

ive yet to see snake mountain in person tho, that thing looks badass. plus you can rock the mic wit it.

Gonna have to agree.

Oh, and snake mountain, my friend had it, I loved going over there. Darth vader on the mic and such...ah, good times! :D

Echo7Solo 12-10-2008 09:22 AM

old school was so much fun to play with but I think it holds a place in our hearts only because we were kids then. If you took us back in time and showed us both I think the 2000 one would win hands down.

Runamuck 12-10-2008 09:26 AM

Old school version, baby!

The newer one looks more cartoonish in it's appearance. What with the skull facade easily visible. On the vintage castle, the skull isn't so evident, and looks like it might in real life or something. It's not so perfectly symmetrical as the newer one, which lends even more to what I just mentioned.

Reeds 12-22-2008 06:43 AM

Maybe it is that old-school nostalgia, but even though the old one has less fine detail, I like it alot more.

tomagnus 12-22-2008 08:35 AM

vintage grayskull all the way. Also looks good in a fish tank.(not me, a friend did this)

Kadroh 07-23-2009 05:21 PM

Original Gangsta Greyskull - OGG

I absolutely loved it as a child. Wish I still had it. I currently have the newer one and enjoy it quite thoroughly, especially with the 3.75" figures. But the original is just so cool looking.

I like that. :D

Old School. The new one is definitely cool, but didn't give me the same OMFG feeling that the original did.

We had those old school radiator heaters in our apartment...and my Mom thought it would be smart to sit my Grayskull on the heater. :(

Ouch!

Probably looked like one of those skull candles that pop around Halloween every year.

It was bad, man. The entire bottom portion was warped in a circular shape (basically warped around the heater)...and Grayskull ended up with a "sad panda" look in it's face.

Naughty Boy 07-23-2009 09:25 PM

I'm dreading the idea that we will be seeing a Classics Castle Grayskull soon. I haven't even removed my 200x version from it's box

TheMurkyDepths 07-24-2009 01:23 AM

Vintage, totaly vintage. 200x was great but the original was more visually interesting!
heres hoping for a classic grayskull but imagine how huge it would be, it would be about the size of a dog kennel!

Naughty Boy 07-24-2009 01:45 AM

If ever they come up with a perfectly scaled Castle Grayskull. They should sell it in sections plus a bonus item or figure. Sort of a Collect and Connect on a much much bigger scale.
