Premature MU Toyfair Post!! Sorry!

I have to say that the MU 2012 Toyfair reveal has been the most disappointing to date. We saw all figures that were basically showcased last year with only a few in plastic that were slides last year and actually less than were presented last year.
We should have at the very least seen Prof. X, Inhumans, Ant Man and Moon Knight 2 pack, Blaastar, Jubilee, Rogue and Longshot.
Now if the idea here was to finally restrict itself to only showing figures that are being released the year of the show than cool, but at least let that be known (unless I miss that somewhere). Even though it is rough waiting I like seeing what figures are on deck.

Well Toy Fair still has 2 more days to go, so it's not over yet, there might be more to come. Though with the Avengers movie coming up fast, it's not surprising that the Toy Fair focus was more on the movie line then the MU line. Even if we don't see anything else new at Toy Fair, history says there's still more to come, wave 4 this year is short 2 or 3 figures and if what's been done in the past is any indication there's at least one more if not two more waves to be revealed.

If the 2 figs out of that wave are ares and fantomex, I would be very happy...

quipp209 02-13-2012 09:05 AM

You know i was hoping hasbro would show off who will be the gigantic battle figures this year so far its lookin like were not getting any

Nexodusrex 02-13-2012 09:06 AM

you guys do know that outside of movie figures, Hasbro dosent show hardly anything marvel during Toyfair cause they save it for SDCC, right?

His name is Modok, and you're still referring to NYCC which is still a con , where as toyfair is similiar but different, and it's a completley different type of crowd. CC events have gamers, comicbook junkies, movie fan, celebrity junkies, cosplay ppl, where as toyfair has collectors, kids, families, and companies taking a peak at products and placing orders for the next season. plus still 2 days left so who knows, but I'd say time sdcc or nycc comes around we'll have a lot more to look forward to. Wouldn't be surprised if FFF is the exclusive with a crazy large blistercard or package.

Greenskar 02-13-2012 09:44 AM

I don't see why no new reveals at toy fair is so surprising to people on this board unless this is the first toyfair they've been following, ever. I said it in another thread and others already did here. Most big reveals and announcements are reserved for the grand stage of SDCC or NYCC where there are full panels dedicated to the fans and media.

Toyfair for me has usually been when I expect to see actual figures on display of what was previously just a conceptual prototype or colorless mold shown only as a reveal during a con panel. In that, this toyfair sure made good on that.

I think Arker MU fans are just anxious to know we are getting the figures most of us are dying to collect. We'll get there. Hopefully the news will leak out somehow before July :)

Uhm...not to pick on you, but Toy Fair doesn't have "collectors, kids, and families." Toy Fair is an industry trade show...the only people that get to go are generally retailers and media. It's not open to the public at all.

And yes, as others have noted, Hasbro's Marvel showings for Toy Fair are normally extremely minimal. SDCC and NYCC is where they do ALL their really major Marvel (comic-based line) announcements.

Marvel Universe is probably going to all-but be on "hiatus" through most of the year until fall, anyway. Three waves between now and then, which is actually better than some other lines have gotten in the past during the "summer movie season."

This.

Toy fair is all about the retailers and getting retailers to order the line in question.

The cons (SDCC and NYCC) are all about the fans. That's where they start showing us great stuff.

SoundWave88 02-13-2012 11:53 AM

Keeping on topic, I wish Hasbro would spend an extra cent or 2 and paint the Hulk's knee's. Either give him shorts or paint his knee's to match his pant's (and don't give him shorts).

Beast looks cool, but I wish they would of kept his simian look instead of the 2nd/3rd mutation feline Beast...maybe he'll get made later. Angel looks good, I'm sure there'll be a red variant.

Nexodusrex 02-13-2012 01:16 PM

The big thing I look forward too with toyfair is Hasbro starts putting up the preorder information to MU and others directly after. so we can get a sense of when they are coming, and how much, and I almost always preorder on bbts.

Exodus 02-13-2012 01:18 PM

What I want to know is why show the older MU stuff that was out last year, like the SS and Wolvy, cool pack but it's time to move forward.

Travis King 02-13-2012 01:26 PM

So Puck is going to have Snowbird in her bird form! Thats gonna be cool. Hercules looks awesome too.

Fantomex is only coming for Marvel legends so far.

Primacron 02-13-2012 01:36 PM

I'm just delighted that Rogue has been confirmed, one of my collecting goals is to have the 90's X-men cartoon team.

Now if Bandai wouldn't mind actually releasing more than 2 Classics Thundercats in anyone size point I'll be very happy.

MGTAJ 02-13-2012 02:19 PM

Hoping for fantomex, big time spidey and a red she-hulk that isnt just a re-paint at some point

They might do a variant later since all it'd need is a new head.

Toss it into the pile of easy slot fillers later, like uncanny x-force archangel, uncanny x-force psylocke, unmasked X-23, GOTG Warlock, and many many many others that can be used to fill up comic packs, used for movie lines (XFC 2 is coming later, and there looks like no wolverine 2 toyline anyway), or random team packs too besides of course single carded revision waves.

Because it's a trade show. They're trying to get retailers to place orders. By showing product that has already been made and ready to go, the retailers get some idea of what to expect. Especially if they've never carried the line before.

It's also a way to entice current retailers to buy back into a line (a la Walmart, Target and TRU).

Spacemafia 02-13-2012 03:17 PM

Its like this every year.....they only show the first few waves and drop a few hints. This isnt SDCC. The Con has two more days, but you have seen all the MU your going to see.

How about for once lets stop complaining and bitching and be happy....

This Con is for retailers and to get people to order stuff....you saw full colored Vs of angel, Nova, Puck among others and know whats to come.

Youll get SDCC which will reveal Prof X, Rogue, Long Shot ad show protos for wave 1-3 2013...then youll get this con again which will show the first few waves in color and hints of whats to come.

Sometimes you people bite the hand that feeds you....

I dont think that rogue is a 90s Version....wish someone would say where this rumor is coming from???

The pack has longshot (Who wasnt on the team in the 90s), and Xbaby Cyclops. This is most likely going to be Rogue in black body suit with green bathing suit and green boots up her leg like box set storm.

Hasbro is not going to make a Jacket for that figure and Rogue wore that jacket all the time....

I know and totally forgot about those two.....thanks for pointing that out. Truth is I will be happy with JL Rogue or Outback rogue...those two would make me happy.

I dont need era specific costumes to make a team.....I just want a good version of that Character...

I dont have certain teams in certain looks on a shelf. If its a good look I loved then Ill put them with whoever....
