Dc Direct which is my favorite line probably. such good detail

Crazy Jetty 02-21-2012 01:42 AM

I'm most excited for Larfleeze and Atrocitus, in that order. Coming up behind them, SC Jordan/Blue Rayner twopack, Jay Garrick, and Rocket Red. Poison Ivy, too.

Mattel, in the DC Infinite Earths Subscription Club, along with Atrocitus and Garret.

Mattel DCU 6 Inch and 6 Inch New 52 Figures @ Toy Fair 12

Unless there's something that's in reasonable scale from DCD (Or someone I *really* like, like Stephanie Brown's Batgirl, which I've *never* found) that fills a hole in my GL collection, pretty much only collect Mattel DCU figures.

Dark Archangel 02-21-2012 02:26 AM

Lets see... definitely want Atrocitus, that Croc looks amazing, first time I've seen a pic of it! That will be a must have for me as well, I preordered the All Star wave, plus an extra Larfleeze for my buddy! Was really hoping to get SMP in his SC armor, but oh well...Also PO'd the new 52 JL Supes and GL, and Catwoman form TDKR line. And this is only for DC? Man I gotta put more hours in lol!

Dark Archangel 02-21-2012 02:28 AM

Wow didnt see that Metron and (evil)SGirl?
And how could I forget the 2 pack SC Hal and BL Kyle??

Also sorry for double post.:o

No, not evil. It's a valid regular costume for her. I *think* it's her New 52 costume.

Wow im getting that Posion Ivy soooooo much better then the DCD one and her height doesnt matter to me if its not scale cause shes a girl and girl figures should be much smaller than male ones

I would greatly dissagree there!
Sure... Speedy, Raven, Arisia, Supergirl, Batgirl... gals like them are little things. But just like not all men should be the same size, neither should all women.
Wonderwoman is canonically supossed to be taller than Superman. Powergirl should rightfully dwarf most men. And there's a reason she's called "Big Barda." (All three are sorily undersized in the DCUC line). And Starfire stands equal to many of the larger male characters. She's in fact taller than Batman and Nightwing.
Just like Superman should generally be larger than Batman, Hal Jordan, and Flash, and Golden Age Atom should be quite a bit smaller than the lot, all women are not created equal, and all women are not smaller than all men.

I'm not saying Poison Ivy is one of these, and her toy wouldn't or shouldn't work with her being a smaller lady, I'm just disagreeing with the generality of your blanket statement.

Well im just asuming a Man with superhuman powers and body builder muscles should be bigger in all aspects than a woman. Take even your biggest bodybuilder woman and they dwarf a male one. Sure you have your exceptions like the ones you listed (I didnt know all female super heros had a exact height) Im just saying if youre sticking to a scale adding female characters to it that dont fit wont make it look odd simply cause you assume she should be smaller anyway.

If we get Grundy it wont be untill next year as you can see now we just now are about to get Killer Crock and its been a year at least. So the Deluxe sized figures always take the longest to make.

Which DCD Poison Ivy do you have? Also what color do you prefer her skin tone Green or normal?

Again, not nessisarily. Unless you happen to be a hulking giant of a man in real life (in which case you'd likely dwarf most men), if you look around you women come in all shapes and sizes, just like men. I've known quite a few who're 5'8"-6'3". Hell, at two of my jobs, I used to have women help *me* get things down off high shelves.
And worked with a couple that i we'd ever gotten into a fight, I'd be pretty sure I'd have gotten stomped. (And I'm average height, and don't get intemedated easily).

Musclemass isn't everything. Just because someone is muscular, does not make them big or tall. Wolverine looks pretty damned off when he's taller than She-Hulk. Just like Wonderwoman standing equal with Golden Age Atom is pretty strange.

So to say "cause she's a girl and girl figures should be much smaller than male ones" is folly, and borderline sexist. Or at least not terribly connected with reality.
There's always going to be exceptions to the rule. And in most cases, women stand equal to most men at least.
I prefer to use DCD's Star Sapphire Wonderwoman in my DCUC Green Lantern display because she's larger than most men as a character, and the DCD is appropriate larger than Mattel's figures.

I stress again, my issue isn't with you're feeling Ivy can be smaller. It's the blanket statement which holds no basis in reality or comics.

Look at the thread in the marvel section, with the same title.

kenm2474 02-21-2012 03:52 PM

I saw it. There is a wall of text that I am not wanting to read.

You don't have to. A few lines will get you the jist of the joke.

DogFashionDisco 02-21-2012 04:49 PM

I'm looking forward to mashed potatoes.

batsfan 02-21-2012 05:04 PM

well i think as long as we have different toy lines with different sizes it will always be hard to get a figure accurate to his or her size i agree with u crazy j ive seen tall ass woman too but ive always figured poison ivy to be avarage to small but thats just me kinda like an evil pixi........i dont know
