Shipping From Ca

What is a realistic price for shipping from Canada on a single carded MU figure? Would prefer answers from actual experience rather than just guesses or what you got charged by someone in Canada.

I've exchanged figures with Canadians numerous times. I can tell you that shipping TO Canada from the US costs no more than shipping anything within the Continental US. If anything, it actually costs less because you can't put a DC on it.

And based on the trades I've made, shipping from Canada is about the same (they wouldn't have made the trades with me if they were overpaying on shipping).

I'm going to be making a trade up to Canada tomarrow so this is encouraging, but I was wondering is it fine to use fedex like I usually would or is usps going to save money?

Check out USPS.com and calculate the price. You need to know the package's weight and dimensions. If it's small and doesn't weigh much, the cost won't be much different. If it's a large item, however, it will cost more. The cut-off point is found pounds. You then have to ship it Priority Mail International and can't ship First Class International.

Regardless, you'll have to fill out a customs form.

All right lads. From the shit I have gotten from my American buddies, Shipping is hardly ever over 4 dollars. MAX. Now shipping into the US costs 6$ Canadian to ship a single carded figure [MU, Star Wars, ect] and around 12-13 for a Transformer [Deluxe]. I always come out paying more than it would an American to buy a figure + shipping. So lets do some quick math:

1 MU figure = 13.91 wih tax in my Province [British Columbia]
Shipping: 6$ to ship ONE MOC figure.
Total Cost: 19.91 Canadian

Now, I don't know exactly the prices down in the states, or taxes so this is all guessing.

1 MU figure = 9.62 with tax at 7%
Shipping: I have seen it as low as 1.98 for a loose figure, or 3.40 for MOC in a BOX. So lets go with the MOC one seeing we did with Canada.
Total Cost: 13.02 USD.

For now on after looking at this, for trading, I am going to ask to pay 2 bucks or so extra for shipping because that is a HUGE difference!!

I just shipped out several figure in the past week (I live in Canada these days). Generally it's $5.97 to ship a boxed figure if you pick the right box. I shipped a package out the other day that cost me $8 something for two figures. Plus there is tax on the shipping and a fuel surcharge, plus $2 if you need to buy a box. Basically anything under $10 is what I would say is reasonable, over that and the person it just trying to make money on the shipping.

$5.97+tax(13%)=$6.75 plus fuel surcharge (depends on where package is going)= at least $7.50 I have to pay for shipping. Better then shipping IN Canada though. That costs over $10 even if it's only a couple hours away :/

A reasonable price is really subjective. As someone who ran a business that did a lot of shipping and as someone that's sold a lot on ebay I do hate then people just look at the price on the box they get in the mail. Like if the label says $3 but they were charged $4-$5 they are outraged by the "rip off". They don't take into account the cost of a box ($1+ for most people), the packing, or the person's time to go to the post office. A fair shipping price isn't just what the postage is cause it actually costs more than that to ship something.

Thanks for everyone's input. I have a much better understanding of the costs now.

I had similar questions earlier today. I blame the Canadian invasion of Toyark and their awesome trades :)>.

I love shipping to Canada.
