Can anybody tell me if this is a fake one?
 

I got this NECA Street fighter Ken recently from eBay and then I found its packaging is so different from what I have seen before. And the face of Ken is too clean... I mean there's no black linear on his mouth and chin. I doubt this is a fake one...

Hope anyone who is familiar with this can help me, thanks!

PS: I contacted the seller and his explanation was that there are different packaging versions in different countries, is that true?

If this is a fake one I'll try to report to ebay and get my money back, and will never buy figures from Hong Kong sellers...

I find it strange that there's a blank spot on the top right of the cardback (next to the J-hook). But based on the pics Vampireheart linked to, it looks like they changed the packaging to a J-hook cardback and shrunk the logo so it would fit on the one side.

How many languages appear on the package?

best thing to do is find the same one online some where else and see if you can get them if not its either very rare or you bought a fake one but considering its street fighter i dont think he would have a smile on his face , in the first place

Haha, same here. I was thinking of getting into these myself. When I saw the Jazwares ones at TRU, I thought they were a little lacking. :/

I know my brother for sure wants a Ken figure as he got a Ryu. Pretty decent line imo.

Are we still talking the Jazwares line??

Yeah, haha. I can't even bring myself to get into the Jazwares Mortal Kombat line either. Even their 6" stuff is meh. Been some awesome looking custom paint jobs by some Arkers, though.

Yeah man some if not all the MK and Street Fighter figures are horrible.

Been looking on eBay and all the china sellers pretty much list it with this packaging. I dunno it looks legit to me XD.

Haha, that gave me a good laugh. The face is very bizarre on this figure, but it was probably still worth picking up for any big SF fans out there.

Sorry for necroing this thread. Does anyone know if there's a sure fire way to know for sure wether these Neca figures are legit or a knockoff?
I recently got Ryu and Guile...where Guile's skin tone is painted, Ryu's skin tone is clearly bare plastic. And his gloves have a wash giving them a matte look. In the various reviews Ive seen for him, his gloves have a sheen and his skin looks painted. I got both figures from the same seller (who claimed they were legit) so I'm not sure what to think.

Ok, so after some digging around, seems like the most telling differences are the sheen of the skin and the shoulder pins on the KOs are very clean-the legit figures have a tiny bit of paint buildup either on the hole or on the pin itself.
Having said that-as far as KOs go-its a dam good replica. Just a little annoyed I paid a little higher than I wanted to for what I thought was a legit version but, its all first world problems so whatever.

Well anyway, just following it up for anyone who comes across this on a google search, which is how I found this thread.

I had a bunch of those Kens at one point. Maybe 8 or 9. I bought them at Toys R Us on clearance for, I believe, 2.99 each. I bought them thinking I'd try to make He-Man customs or something, but instead gave them to my son, who was 4 or 5 at the time to destroy.

Just one final follow up...I have both versions of Ryu now and it is indeed the case of the KO being being bare plastic for the most part with some light airbrushing on the torso and pants. The pins on the arms are clean (bare plastic) and the pins on the legs have quite a bit of paint buildup. The legit Neca figure is painted from head to toe, sculpt is a tiny bit sharper and in Ryu's case, there is some slight paint buildup on the pins.

i still need Akuma from that line..KO or not..almost doesn't matter AS LONG as you're not paying legit price for an actual KO.
