I have seen these pop up on eBay from time to time over the last few years, first around the time of a rumored Bizarro / Superman 2-pack that never came to fruition.

Anyone know the story behind this fig? Will it see retail release? One previous auction ended at $255. :eek:

^^ I heard the same story as you, it was part of an unproduced 2-pack with Bizzaro. Yet, I also heard another story, that the figure was supposed to be part of a Super Frinds 5-pack, featuring this Superman, as well as Samurai, Black Vulcan, El-Dorado and a re-release of the Lex Luthor from the Gotham City 5-pack.

Looks nice but way too expensive for a recolour. :)

An epic recolour. That light blue is how it should of been done imo.

Thats Supermans Color. Why in the Hell cant Mattel paint him the way he should be on all the figures. It fucking boggles the mind.

Anyone else find this headsculpt bears a slight resemblance to Dean Cain who played Supes in Adventures of Lois and Clark?

I agree. I always called this head sculpt "Jim Thorpe Superman," but he is very Cain-y. :)

Yes, Lois accidently washed Superman's super suit together with a load of whites. Sheesh, women.
