Shouldn't the 'Ninja Spider-Man' figure be Deadpool?:p

I don't think this line will succeed. It shares similarities with the Wolverine & The Xmen line, as well as Iron Man Armored Adventures. All are animated style, which is cool, but articulation is reduced all across the board for all 3 lines, which is bad, and they all look cheap, which hurts each line further.

I'd rather have Marvel Universe style Spidey characters and villains, not a line meant to fit in with 2 lines that won't even continue into next year.

I refuse to buy these,maybe venom but thats it.Not only have they had 9 differnt spidermen in the marvel universe line but he gets own series too:eek:.they'll probably make a whole new line of spiderman toys once spiderman 4&5 come out.

I'm a little disappointed in the articulation in these, but otherwise neat. Doubt I'll get em. I've grown too fond of the MU articulation use of ball joints over this retro styling used here. Doc Ock for example has swivel biceps, no elbows, and rudimentery legs it seems, with socket knees, and feet. So maybe if he's on sale I might get him. Shame they didn't go all out on these to MU standards though. We could have gotten at least a fully poseable ninja spidey, alongside a black cat, venom, and other characters from the spidey-verse like carnage and anti-venom that may take awhile to show up in MU. Oh well.

I think this is a blatant attempt to get MU fans to buy in other products. Lets hope they don't release specific characters only on this line

Well I think the odds are in favor of the line. The 6" line has gone on for a long time now because it sells well. 3.75" is the "in" thing now. They're basically moving that series to the more popular scale.

The thing about this line, Wolverine, and Iron Man are that they are more for kids. I mean you can tell in this line thanks to all of the gimmicks like light-up eyes and battle armor. This is all stuff made up for toys. Even Doc Ock isn't a version from the comic books.

Articulation is at least better than the Iron Man line. Pretty much none of the Iron Man line have elbow or knee articulation.

By the way, they left off some of the figures on ActionFigs.com and therefore ToyArk didn't post the pictures either. Arctic Attack Spider-Man, Web Blast Spider-Man, Power Punch Spider-Man, Power Charge Rhino.

This is a very well articulated and reasonable argument. I think often we formulate opinions on matters such as this with only the perspective of an adult collector, as opposed to the business side of toys which takes everything into account. The Wolverine and the X-Men line I heard was cancelled, that does not surprise me. I think the appeal of certain characters lend themselves better to certain audiences than do others, particularly with regards to business tactics and consumer acceptance. Being able to sell the same mold repeatedly by changing the paint scheme and/or the accessories that come with them is paramount for the toy business as we all know.

For example, Batman and Spiderman toys have thrived for years now with the many different representations of each character with their varied accessories. But these are crafty characters that can be associated with using such ridiculous accessories in the eyes of a child. Wolverine has blades coming out of his hands. Crazy looking astronaut gear or scuba gear just seems too out of place for guys like him. Kids don't really care about comic accuracy, they want variety, their imaginations dictate where they go from there. This explains why some of my favorite toys as a kid from the TMNT line were the sports themed ones where Donatello had a working jump shot, and Raphael swung a baseball bat, etc. I had hours of fun playing H.O.R.S.E with Donatello when friends came over.

Nowadays, I care about accuracy, quality and articulation of my action figures as opposed to those silly gimmicks that used to entertain me for hours on end as a kid. Is it that my imagination has left me, or have I grown to appreciate action figure designs as an artform as one might admire a fine oil painting? Ok, so the oil painting analogy may be a stretch but you get my point hopefully.

The fact that they're not going to be of the 6 inch scale is bad enough, but seriously... Spider-Man... with a SWORD?!?!? Come on!!!

The articulation, or lack thereof, kills this line.

Let's look at the argument. This line is aimed at kinds...fine. Kids don't care about articulation...fine. Kids prefer heroes over villains...fine.

All this said, why doesn't Hasbro give the villains articulation...thus ensuring sales to collectors who favor villains over how kids do. And thus skip on articulation for the multitude of Spider-Man figures?

If there's a cost per wave which has to be distributed across all the figures, why not sell one less variant Spider-Man per wave if it puts some form of standard articulation on a villain.

I see a lot of these figures pegwarming. I don't think MU collectors will be scooping up the villains, since they're rather unposeable. With a little adjustment to the line, the line could be a success for both kids and collectors, but there doesn't seem to be much foresight regarding this.

Meanwhile, the Iron Man 2 figures are rather poseable. And I hear that line is going to be introducing quite a few characters. Two starkly different approaches to how a line dedicated to a mainstream character can be be done. Definately more interested in the Iron Man line.

Why can't we just have a normal Spiderman toy anymore?
