Huge Avengers Diorama
9 Attachment(s)
Okay guys, this is something i wanted to do since forever: Avengers Headquarters. I wanted to build a diorama that would be sizable and durable(not built out of cardboard). So, the other day i found this out in my storage( I have MU Galactus there for size reference). Its a tad over 4 feet high, it being an old crate.
i came up with a small program requirement based on what i usually see in comics: -quinjet hanger -hank pyms lab -iron man armory -training room -meeting room/ sit-ops the idea is that its built on multiple levels with a simple elevator, with an opening at the top for an opening hanger bay and the ability to bring in some natural light. Ill also be carving a mockup Quinjet out of blue foam and spray paint it. Plus ill be making some platforms for the training room. But most of my time will be making the props out of styrene. It'll be an interesting little summer project, as im off from school for four months. any ideas are welcome of course! Hey I finally got around to adding more shit to my dio. This time it was a football sized quinjet i handcarved out of bluefoam. http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/2769/dscn0670pp.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us UPDATE: Added more pics of my progress and adding all the pics to the attachments at the bottom to not bog down the page and keep scroll time low. ANOTHER UPDATE: i decided to forgo the elevator cause I knew levels were not going to line up. I painted the floors white so when I stick on the lighting, the figures will show up easier, especially in photography. beginning of Iron Man Armory: UPDATE: I have begin the rought framework for the different levels: |
This is gonna be EPIC! How huge is that Cosmic Dog? He makes Galactus look puny!
Looking forward to see what you come up with.

This is looking great, and really inspiring me to try to make my own Avengers Tower diorama once I get my shed straightened out.
I really like your armory. Though It's allot small than my armory. Here's a pic of mine right now (I still need to add the she;ves for the movie, and concept armors): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...VTS/007-27.jpg The only suggestion I have about your armory is you should either put a tech wall, or maybe mirror sheets behind the armors. Other than that this whole thing is looking great. |
thanks man! Next probably finishing up the carving of my quinjet!
looking good keep up the great work
I cant wait to see this finished!
its always changing, this isnt something that can really be finished. Im building a new training room but this time im painting up a storefront and street.
This is really coming along nicely! Epic, man!
I added a new picture of my quinjet for the hanger.
