Did You Make Explosion Noises As A Kid?

This thread is for that Inner Child in you. That child that you once were, and all the wacky things you did with your toys and your imagination. Tell Your Stories of Play from your childhood.

I always made the punch effect sound when playing TMNT with my cousins

and I confess I still do sometimes

warmachine6 05-01-2012 12:43 PM

i havent stopped , i dont care how old i am im still a big kid ! :D

trebleshot 05-01-2012 01:00 PM

I used to make all the standard silly noises: explosions, laser fire, punches, revving engines, peel-outs (or burn-outs), skidding tires, etc. I'd even throw in a "hi-yah!" or three depending on the character.

Plus, Transformers would get the transformation sound and lightsabers would get that distinctive hum. And who hasn't tried to do Vader (both the breathing and the James Earl Jones imitation) at least once?

Now I mostly do them for my daughter's toys, which she tries to mimic.

Iceman 05-01-2012 01:07 PM

Totally made all the explosion/laser/gun and I still do, sort of. I don't really play with them so much these days but I do it for the kid.

Nexodusrex 05-01-2012 02:13 PM

I have to admit, making the sound of wind after a battle with my M.A.S.K. toys as a kid, is how I learned how to whistle!

Crazy Jetty 05-01-2012 04:12 PM

I still do! As well as occasionally jet noises, when I sit here with a TF in jet mode.

I push the buttons on Galactus and Sentinels quite frequently. The wife just rolls her eyes and says "this is what I married."

Damn straight woman!!!! I'm Rick James!!

Colder Soldier 05-01-2012 04:48 PM

I still make all the sound effect noises. As I got older, my sound effects and voice acting only improved.

Runamuck 05-01-2012 09:17 PM

Heck yeah, I did. Jet noises, car noises, tires screeching noises...everything. I still do when no one is looking...or listening. <_<
