...I suppose the only time scalpers urinate me off is when it's a figure I want. The rest of the time...meh.

It's nice to see this in a larger size, but for as long as I've wanted a helicarrier, I don't think I could settle for anything less than something the size of the GI Joe USS Flagg. I understand that it's cost prohibitive, but there it is.

Scalpers exist, however. They know who they are. That's their bread and butter. They go all in. Yes, it's borderline loser behavior, but you can't cast blame... just play the game... don't be stupid, be keen.

Scalping on eBay is rampant and unstoppable. Don't like the prices, don't buy. Simple. Don't be stupid, be keen. Lol. Bears repeating. Scalping fellow collectors on an online forum is not cool, however. You can fight it and shop smart.

Do your homework and be patient.
Soo true. Scalpers hover all over ebay like flies on shit. The links for those figures along are proof enough. Just be patient and don't buy their ridiculous priced items. Sorry to say but as good and fun sdcc is, its definitely scalper central. I've witnessed the prices go up every year for awhile now. Its only going to get worse every year.

For ppl who are considering buying, are they planning on hanging it up for display. If I'm going to consider it, I was thinking of hanging it with some clear fish line and dry wall sink hooks in the ceiling. Any other ideas?

Yea, that's really a bummer. Maybe he'll be a Gigantic Battles instead? He'd go pretty great with a Frog Thor (orange) and a Franklin Richards (green)...

EDIT: Yup, being sold for crazy prices on eBay.....
Any other way to get them without going to SDCC?
Hasbro Toy Shop sells them sometime within the first week of release, usually a few days after SDCC, but it's pretty tough to get one even there.

So yeah, scalpers exist.

...

Don't judge. I needed gas and music equipment.
Agreed. If and whenever I've done this it's been to pay for the toys I kept. So far, that's been an astoundingly losing battle.

Gonna have to make that happen for you, OV. (Though I might need a reminder a day or so before). It was pretty comical lugging the 3' sentinel boxes around last year. This year should be even more hilarious...

Here is one way of beating the scalpers.Making your own helicarrier, all you need is the following items.
Some foil wrap,an ironing board.

An ikea storage container, some shield logo's,a capatin america base.

hey presto,one helicarrier

Recreate some of your favourite avengers movie scenes

anyway its a cheaper alternative,peace

Maybe I should wear my gopro camera just to capture some footage for you guys. I'm pretty sure some fools are going to get whacked by this helicarrier by ppl who are trying to move through the crowds...and I will be there to film it.

I half want Maria Hill just to make a " How I met your mother" custom Robyn figure. I would love to have a custom Barney and Ted figure and have a Sheldon and Leonard figure from " The Big Bang Theory".

I saw that. But hey, he's lowered the price. It's only 100.00 now. He was asking 130.00 a couple of days ago.

My problem with the Sentinel last year was the shuttle back to the hotel. That was a serious ordeal.

That does suck. I lugged around two sdcc sentinels around the con + other swag. I thought walking to the car was a pain in the ass. The shuttle can get pretty crowded too.

Not so much the crowd, but the fact that the damn boxes don't fit in the seating areas at all, so you have to stand and hold them next to you in the isle...

This carrier is going to be a mega beast.

I want to see one to proper scale. It seems to serve a similar function to the soon to be commisioned Amercia class (albiet flying) That would make a 1/18th scale helicarrier 46.8 feet long and 5.8 feet wide, though it might need to be widened to allow for the props.
