Figuarts churned out a lot of turds this year with their anime stuff, but this Aquaman actually looks good.

I preorderd him. The Momoa likeness looks really good and what is most important for me when it comes to the film figures is the likeness. That was why i prefered Figuarts Black Adam over Mafex Black Adam as well even if the s.h.figuarts' version's crapy cape. Likeness wins.

I agree. Face likeness is so vital when it comes to movie action figures. It really makes the figure a lot of fun to pose around and worth the high price tag.

I'm not sure whats going on with them, like who is approving some of their designs. The Battison was such a disappointment. They might be churning out too much stuff

I really need to see what Mafex offers and how SHF scales with the Mafex figs. I don't forsee Mafex coming out with a comic Aquaman any time soon.

But this figure looks good. Something I think get's underestimated by others. If a figure doesn't look good out from promotional photos provided by the company, probably not going to look much better in person.

I agree, how the prototype looks on the promo pics is as best as it gets with the quality of the figure. If even the prototype on promo pics looks bad, just stay away from that figure because final product will be even worse.

Mafex have already done a movie Aquaman from the first movie. If they release another one, it will likely just be a re-release (maybe with some minor tweaks like the JL figs). I have the Mafex one and so far, I think I prefer that likeness over this new Figuarts one. But a new release will probably have better likeness, just like the JL one did.
