It's Friday and I don't feel like working very hard, so I'm talking toys for the most part,.. unless Deebo rolls up.
If you don't feel like reading further, the thread is..
"What do you think has been the best Wave?"
As I look over the latest Wave, I got to thinking.. "damn, every figure is almost a slam dunk." I got into the MU game a little late, so it seems like there's always a figure I still want, but looking back on the Waves (thanks to
trebleshot's very handy checklist
), there aren't many that I look at and need all of them. When I look at 2011's Wave 2, the only figure that I was going to pass on was Wolverine. It's another Wolverine, yes,.. and I still think he looks like an idiot with those whiskers, but it's at least a unique Wolverine as opposed to another brown suit or the typical yellow suited version we usually get.
Apocalypse- BEAST! Not only did we get a character I think a lot of us having been waiting for, but they nailed it. Big, solid, and loaded with detail. For some reason mine came a little greasy, but that's nothing a paper towel couldn't handle.
Cyclops- Best version of Cyclops for me. The version without the swim cap was always my favorite, and he has those great newer ankles for super awesome poseability.
Cable- Similar to my thoughts on WW Hulk; it seems like they used a lot more of their budget on this figure than on most. Lots of accessories (removeable armor included), ridiculously articulated and detailed. It just seems like a few figures are heads above the rest in overall quality, and this is definitely one of them.
Gladiator- Mohawk + Jay Leno moon chin = needs to be owned by me.
WW Hulk isn't technically part of this wave, but it doesn't hurt that he's packaged in cases of this wave.
So what wave do you think has been the best? You can see the wave lists in trebleshot's thread
here
