I don't know about you guys, but I really don't like the two-packs. Something about the comic packaged in there makes me feel like the entire packaging is not as beautiful as the single guys.

So if Hasbro has all of the molds and paint setups to create characters we only see in two-packs, why don't they re-use them and re-package them as singles? For that matter, why don't they do the same with the comic related movie lines? They could have a serious repertoire of characters if they didn't limit themselves so much. Plus, a lot of collectors would still collect both the single and two-pack versions. I can't see where there'd be a loss for Hasbro here.

Can someone show me the light?

Are you asking why they don't repack some of the comic packs as singe cards? Man I would hate that idea. That just gives them another excuse to have fillers in the wave. I want new figures never released in the single cards. I was pissed when they re released Doom in a single card as a different green.

It's obviously a fact of Hasbro trying to make more money by people buying the comic packs and paying double the price for really only one figure that they really want and include a throw away figure that they already have a tens of thousands of sitting in the warehouse waiting to be used. Then they release a slight variation of that same figure that everyone payed double the price because now they have many of those sitting in the warehouse waiting to be used and now make even more money by throwing a slight paint variation on there causing collectors to buy it again.

I want both! Keep up with the new releases, but throw me a mohawk Storm while you're at it. And don't pull an Ultron where you act like it's a new figure but it isn't. Make the waves bigger!

I see that, but then they can re-release the same figures in single cards and make even more money on the collectors who have to have both. (Though that isn't me).

I guess I was thinking specifically of mohawk Storm, Nightcrawler, XMO comic Gambit, Sabretooth, and more. Maybe they're doing this, but not with the ones I give a crap about.

Toss Modern Thor and Ironman into the group that's been sold as a single too.

..I actually like the look of a lot of the Comic Packs, and have been sucked into buying a few (both Cap CP's this summer) just because the package looks "fun."

But it does seem like sometimes Comic Pack figs take a little bit of a quality hit. Not saying all the time, but in my experiences it's been the case more than I'd like.. they also lack accessories.

Re-using molds from comic packs as single pack releases or vice versa is simply a way for Hasbro to make back the money they already spent on designing the mold and hopefully funding new molds in the future. It is not a ploy to make more money off helpless collectors in the throes of OCD.

No one at Hasbro expects anyone to buy every product they put out. And that's also part of the allure of repacks and revision waves. It gives kids and collectors the chance to get figures they might not have been able to get otherwise. For example, say you wanted Absorbing Man, but didn't want a Doom and Wasp figure too. Well, now you have that chance. Maybe some didn't like the green on Doom's outfit and prefer the more muted colors.

Or say you started collecting two years after the line debuted and you don't have Do Boy's luck at hunting down figures.

Who knows? Maybe Hasbro will repack those characters again (they already did it once with Nightcrawler). Maybe they will do a new version that's better than the comic pack (FF pack Reed vs. comic pack Reed).

What is most interesting is the rising cost of the comic pack is almost making it MORE expensive than two single figures. Sure, you get a comic, but as the line grows we are getting fewer packs with TWO new figures. Thus, as in the case of the Silver Samurai, we got one new figure and comic ... and a repainted wolverine.

To the OP, I would hope that they discontinue this practice of putting comic pack figures on single cards because these are the figures that aren't selling. Very few folks are really excited about a new Ultron or Magneto or Dr. Doom, but they might have if they were significantly different. I get that they are trying to recoup their money on these molds, but haven't they done that already by reusing most of them many, many times? Sure, modern Thor isn't that re-usable, but Wolverine's mold has gotten a workout!

Most - but not all - of us would rather see new figures on the pegs. I have no problem with 3 packs/multipacks being re-releases as this is a great way for people to catch up (although I hate it when they throw in there a must-have figure). This is good for the line. I even don't mind revision waves. But just have a revision comic pack wave and keep them out of the singles!

A few of these figs have been released again, albeit in other multipacks. Nightcrawler was in the six pack, Sabertooth was in a first class comic pack, and Gambit is coming with his ascot and a new paint job in a comic pa k with Mr. Sinister next year. They have been re-releasing them one per wave this year as well, but I agree, not really the ones most want

Well, not always. FOr instance, the comic pack Crossbones is far better than the single carded one. Also, Taskmaster is loaded with accessories.

In your opinion, how is the comic pack Crossbones better than the single carded one? Looks? Articulation? I passed on it as I thought the single-carded Crossbones was a better design plus I liked the single-carded Bucky Cap better than what was in the Cap/Crossbones comic pack.

I agree that the Taskmaster and Deadpool figures had good accessories in their comic pack. It's too bad that the Taskmaster figure I received has trouble standing even on a figure base due to bad knee joints. I was also disappointed that one of Deadpool's katanas came out warped and had to be re-straightened.

taskmasters knees are soooo weak. why did they feel the need to even include a bow and arrow. ive never read a comic where he uses one. its always about the sword and shield. About the better as comic pack than single card, case in point is the SW Hulk which everyone heres gushes over, and black suit spiderman.
