Per the newest fwoosh interview with Brian, TMNT is being relaunched and Ratking is being reworked.

We won boys, we won.

Also from the interview, 2 more “large items” are planned from super7…no idea the brand.

All ultimates waves look to be going down to 3-4 figures a wave.

Disney ultimates appears to be on life support.

Not a huge deal that affects anything but wish Brian would address the Silverhawks ownership once and for all. I noticed the copyright info on the ultimates is 2023 Silverhawks,LLC.
I think Transformers Ultimates has to be completely done too.

I don’t know about the sliverhawks ownership, but I’d agree on transformers. The red series by hasbro was so close to these and at $25 less a figure. Other than myself….lol…I don’t think most people like non transforming robots. I always have wanted this type of toy. Even the Megazords I want in super articulated non transforming modes. But I’m a big minority.

I’ll be honest. I’m a bit concerned about all ultimates. I have a feeling the cost is killing super7 and the market just can’t take these high priced items right now. Hopefully things start evening out.

I think super7 cannibalizes their customers. Maybe just a joint ultimates line mixed with all properties is an idea.

Yeah, if things continue downward, I could see them either phasing out Ultimates entirely or consolidating the line with far less releases. So I can totally see them doing something like you mentioned. I guess kind of similar to what Loyal Subjects did with their 6 inch line.

I have been buying the line, with some minor cherry picking. I would like to see them do some more Pretender shells. If Hasbro keeps up with doing inner bots, then you can have some compromise to allow for the original gimmick. Not digging these hybrid outer shells that transform.

Solid Victory. If they release this version of Rat King later down the line as a version 2 after a "playmates" version, I understand. I still don't want it but I get it. Maybe that was the plan and they flipped it. Sell the lesser appealing of the two designs first, then, sell big on the one everybody really wants down the line to boost sales. Wouldn't be the first time a toy company did that.
+
I hope Disney is on ice.... XD I'll admit I haven't bought any yet. Another case of Super7 putting certain design choices ahead of the hits/basics. People complain about the TMNT line doing that but in that case I like it. So who knows.

Must be so damn hard running a toy company.

Maybe the Ultimates figures don't need QUITE so many hands, and that would save on costs.

I'm 100% against that given I don't even think there's enough hands sometimes. I'm here for the Ultimate version, I want more, not less.

Removing a few hands would not change the price much. If you aren't going to pay $55, you're not going to pay $52. I've seen similar arguments for the packaging. These things aren't adding $20 to the price.

Hands that can properly hold their accessories would be great tho lol. I actually wouldn't be opposed to a holding hand & accessory done as one piece.

wondering out loud if the Disney Ultimates problem is too many deep-cut figures (a harder sell at a high price) plus the slow release schedule makes it more uncertain that figures needed to complement other figures will be produced (e.g. getting Stitch without Lilo)

can remember a while ago Tomy did a series of small Disney figures. they were not 'Ultimates' but they managed an impressive breadth of characters.

https://www.google.com/search?q=tomy...cal+collection

I'm taking the 'quantity over quality' argument as long as they aren't Funko POPs!

preview for series 5 of the Simpsons line with Lisa, Marge & Maggie, and Groundskeeper Willie. that's right, figures of the main family in their normal outfits at long last

Guianan in both Trek waves? Sounds like they didn't get licensing rights for somebody and figured people wanted a second chance at Whoopi?

Word? Microsoft Word? :P Wordsworth?
Somewhere, out there, Worf is swearing a blood oath to avenge this slight on his honor.

Super 7 is such a weirdly unprofessional company, often their preorders are just CGI shots, they don't know that you gotta show people the actual product you want to sell?
And honestly, these look genuinely bad and weird. The faces are super lifelike, and thus, look off put on hardly detailed bodies with cartoony shoulder and crotch/thigh joints. Look at their upper arms - they are so undetailed they are just monochrome tubes.
They have yet to make TNG toys I actually would consider getting... which is good as my wallet can use the rest.

No one wanted a first shot at Whoopi.

But yeah, sounds like you're on to something. Rights to someone's likeness probably fell through the last second.

But regardless of the reason, it's a shitty wave. Picard and Worf both look great, but it's only two new figures as opposed to the four in the first wave.

Hopefully like with Rat King they'll announce a change and add in someone else. A two figure wave is just bad, and if there is a licensing issue, let us know so we don't have an incomplete set
