Yeah, Brian Flynn even said in an interview they're going to have a lot more replacement parts on hand than usual for this wave. Not very encouraging.

That's too bad. I have to say that I love everything about these figure designs, from the accurate sculpts and clean lines and simple articulation to the level of detail and especially the absence of weird stylization. They even somehow manage to do ab crunches tastefully. I just wish they could get some licences that appeal to me. I've love to see classic Rocket Robin Hood get the Super 7 treatment. I'd love to see them do classic versions of the golden age comic book characters. Their version of Fleischer Superman would kick Mezco hollow.

Are you paying attention, DC? I will pay top dollar for something that's done well.

How have I never heard of that series! Existing characters being put in a future world for no good reason is a niche I LOVE!

I predict people will be opening their boxes when they're finally released and little shiny silver snowstorms will start pouring out.
They've basically repeatedly said how hard it would be to make all vac metal figures over and over and over again but people still want them. I don't know why it's a surprise they're telling you up front about how to handle the figures with the vac metal people kept saying they wanted despite the warnings.

Forget flaky chrome, these people are still using renders with characters clipping through themselves to look more poseable than they actually are. There's too much sketch with this company to get me to send them any money.

Why do the Silverhawks leave one forearm bare?

Not really though. People wanted shiny silverhawks but, not necessarily vac-metal. A paint app with a metallic sheen would've really sufficed. The metallic sheen on their Destro and BAT works well enough.

I disagree, all the comments I typically read on social media or other forums want vac metal.

You guys are both right. There are 2 camps. Those that want vacmetal and those that wanted an ultra-shiney straight metallic paint finish.

Many folk don't understand that vacmetal is so hard to pull off because it only adheres well to one type of plastic. Which is a type of ABS that is also very brittle. A really strong topcoat is the only thing that will keep it in place.

I have no idea how they are going to get this finish to stick to the plastic they currently use. It wouldn't really work on anything in the long term but the torso. Unless they are planning on creating a figure ENTIRELY from ABS. If they go that route they'll be shattering out of the box, very light and have super cheap lack of heft.

I think S7 SHOULD have gone with an ultra metallic finish. There are some paint and top coat combos nowadays that are almost as shiny as vacmetal. With none of vacmetal's inherent weaknesses.

Maybe there is a new method for vacmetal adherence. I hope I'm totally wrong with the "can't happen" opinion. Because I PO'd the new Hawks and Monstar. I waited to jump into the S7 SH until the inevitable metallic finish dropped (also like the toy Monstar colorway better than the previous 50 shades of red version).

If S7 DOES manage to release these with a rock solid finish they will be astronomical on the secondary market once word gets out. Folk can say what they will. But, a group of mint condition vintage SH's together on a shelf is a beautiful sight. Especially if they are displayed on a mirror.

EDIT: Well...The description contains a disclaimer about the fragile nature of Vacmetal. So sounds like it's the same old process. Geez. Now I'm totally doubting my buy in.

Just saw these listed on BBTS

Might consider it if it were Klaus Kinski's take from the Werner Herzog film.

That looks sick! The GITD gimmick really enhances that sculpt. Also, I noticed no more upcharge for GITD ultimates apparently. The great GITD pigment shortage of the early 20s is finally over! Lol

OO LA LA! If the eyes move, I buys now. I'll probably buy it without it. If the eyes moved that would be insanely cool. The figure looks really really good. Bravo!

IIII hope it's not toooo big. It's my biggest gripe with Super7's. But that's a nonsense complaint. They are who they are and it's great.

If this was back Ultimates started I would be hyped for Mars Attack, but Super7 has lost all the good faith I had when I first PO'd their first wave of TMNT figures.
I'm just going to wait until these release in a year and a half, see what the common QC issues are and then wait for clearance to pick up a 3 ackack squad.

These look amazing but, I dont see the actual figures in-hand being able to holding these poses. Due to just about every Ultimates having some kind of issue with loose joints.

I'm assuming it's a licensing cost thing (money to Topps & money to WB) but it's too bad they went for card figures instead of movie figures. I kind of hate the movie, but it's one of those things where the card art was loose enough for a movie figure to more-or-less pass for a Topps version but not the reverse. They could have expanded their reach a bit which is important when your prices preclude army building.

With their penchant for preview renders showing impossible range of motion, getting them into those poses in the first place would be your first challenge. I mean, can the elbows really bend that far? At least they're being realistic about the figures' inability to point the rifle forward, points for that.

Making these 2 separate figures instead for 1 figure with 2 heads is weak sauce. If this was really an “ultimate” then it would include both.

These look pretty awesome, and I'm glad they went with card designs. The movie was fine but I'm all about cards. They're simple enough too that I can't see myself being disappointed by the factory paint job.

Honestly outside of the turtles hips swaying a bit, most of my Ultimates have no problems holding a pose. Just got the Toxic Crusaders wave in and they're all fine.

I tend to agree but they did put a little bit of battle damage on the body also and a torn hose. I actually think a lot more battle damage/blood would be nice to make it stand out even more separate.

That's great that it's working out for you but definitely seems like its a your mileage may vary kind of thing. Since, I think most of my S7 purchases this year either have issues of excessive flopiness (Steelwill can't even hold his weapon upright) or comprised ankles so that they either eventually settle into a smooth criminal pose or end up falling outright. This is between their GI Joe, Silverhawks & Thundercats figs.
I don't think I've had any issues of loose hips since their Filmation Motu stuff.

I have no doubt these can't stand on thier own. But we've waited soo long for decently sculpted figures for Mars Attacks.

have received news that Simpsons Ultimates Series 2 has been delayed until 2024 and Series 4 has been taken off Super7's pre-order status page entirely.

the line isn't cancelled as far as we know, but these signs don't bode well for the future. it doesn't make me willing to take advantage of all those discounts on Series 1 either.

(not sure who in the hell is buying the $20 ReAction figures but those seem to be doing ok)

Sorting the products on BBTS by "Voltron" reveals the new Super 7 "Lightning Glow" Voltron that doesn't separate into the lions and is not very poseable despite having lots of points of articulation for $65 and the Good Smile equivalent scale model that separates into the component lions, appears to be more articulate, and has lots more accessories for $58.

You would think they'd make a Voltron in their super shogun and/or super cyborg lines. But instead, they just continue with these variants on that underwhelming Ultimates-scale mold. Whatever lol.
