I gotta agree though, I hated it when they started coming preposed and lacked decent articulation. Some of the worst offenders were in the robot fighters line and generation X line. They had perfect sculpts, awesome costumes, but such horrible articulation.
That last part, agreed, they started trying to tango with Mcfarlane's lines but lost the charm of their own lines, that's when they lost me. I wouldn't get back to toy biz marvel collecting until 2001 with the Spiderman Classics line.

Add to that the BAF Modok is perfect scale foe MU- the AIM Soldiers look perfect next to him!

Of course, the best fig ever is The watcher from Marvel Select- looks great next to Galactus!

I' making a custom Annihillius from an X-Men 2099 guy...er...some red winged dude (never read that title) and a FF Annihillius head with McFarlane dragon wings....

Damn! I cant find my camera's computer cable! I'll upload pics soom- promise!
BloodHawk. Now that you mention that though, the X-Men 2099 line had some AMAZING figures. Some like Junkpile and Metalhead still fit in with the MU scale too.

And yeah, the ones i miss others in that thread also cover, like Uatu among others like Puck from alpha flight, and that dino/girl two pack from the most wanted line.

It's been said, but yeah 2nd edition Wolverine was just hot shit. Went through a few and the left arm fell off on every one. Really dug Cyclops II (I remember drooling over that entire upcoming wave) and the '90s X-Factor Havok as well. Somewhere here I have unopened Wolverine II, III, IV, V, VI and the first wave Nightcrawler Archangel and Magneto. What the hell do I do about the glue deteriorating on the cards?

Weird why did the left arm fall off?

Anyone remember the repackaged figures later on with new parts? Like there was an unmasked wolverine II I think, with a repainted mask from the 1st Wolverine.

I remember being sooooo stoked about Cyclops II, Phoenix (I almost peed), Morph, and Iceman. Iceman was so damn hard to find. I think I found a couple in a Walmart in Daytona Florida on a family Vacation. My sweet mom (who was always amazing and drove me around to look. Hey I was only 12 or 13) got excited about Iceman too and picked up all the ones they had there, ha! I sill have those Near mint on the card back home in GA in storage. I have the best mom!

I totally had a 2nd ed. Wolvie, repainted in metallics and sporting the 3rd edition (unmasked) head. I think I got him with the Blackbird? Does that seem right? As for the arm always falling off, maybe I just loved him too much.

Really like the Deathbird figure, also the Astral Xavier figure I used straight out as a Shadow King (given that there was never a figure made of him except for the bottled figure with AOA Apocalypse.) The Ninja Psylocke was awesome as well but ended up, for me being a customized Selene. Also Halocau---er Nemesis.

But I think my favorite of all was probably the Onslaught Apocalypse. Extremely well crafted figure!

That would be the one! I remember seeing him on the back of the packaging and he was sort of back-lit by red light and I thought you could see his organs and I was so pissed off about that, Lol! Thank the lawd that wasn't the case. I was a naive child.

Damn brian I'm feeling nostalgic I might bust out my figures for a photo shoot! Does Xman have ball jointed legs? The later figures seemed to have a big Joe Madureira influence going on.

Favorite!

And that X-Man only has forward/backward articulation (thighs, knees and ankles). You're right on about that Joe Mad influence though.

Also, my kitchen is overrun, been snapping pics of all my in-package stuff. I'll put a link to my Photobucket in my sig when I get it all set up.

Man I skipped the 10" figures back in the day, thinking they were nothing more than 2 ups. I was wrong! Sure some of them didn't add much, but battle damaged wolverine had elbow joints, and a later retool had a removable mask! Not to mention the sculpt overall looked better.

That one came with the Wolverine 4x4 (jeep). Here is a pic.

I LOVED this toy line as a kid, it was how I was introduced to the X-Men. My first one was the original Magneto, followed by Storm. Then I discovered the animated series, and I was hooked for life. I got fairly close to having all of them. I remember looking for the original Nightcrawler for years before finally finding him. And I still have all of mine. In fact, I actually have plans to get them out of storage soon. I can't wait to dig through them again, and I hope to make a place to display them all some day.

Among my favorites were the various Nightcrawlers, Domino, Phoenix, Polaris, Wolfsbane (New Mutants sub-line), and 3rd edition Cable. And the Blackbird playset was so cool. The Classic and Giant-Size box sets were awesome, as well as the Famous Couples sets.

Good memories. Well, except for the years of searching for a Havok that was never made (his head was on the front card artwork).

The 10" Silver Surfer is the customizer's dream cme true- you can make a lot of company for galactus with that basic figure.

Yeah, hell I gave all of my X-Men toys to my buddies' little brother when I was like thirteen. Years later he ended up donating them all save one, my 2nd edition Wolverine which he gave back to me. From there I slowly amassed a modest little collection of nonsense I'd score from local antique shops.

@Greylight: Nice find on that 4x4, don't even remember when I picked up that Wolvie.

And now, some random Nightcrawler love from my In Package album:

Yes that's the one, the one with remnants of mummy wrappings on him. I just really like the design as it's so different than standard Apocalypse (although I really love the overall design of Apocalypse anyways, so it's even more of a win-win situation for me.)

That Nightcrawler fig was sweet back then- he looked so pissed off!

YOu remember the X-Force line? I'm looking all over for a Comcast figure (funny name now that the media giant is so well known).
That fig had a great flying thing he stood on and he looks to be a perfect base figure for making a custom MU scale Mandroid figure.

Sabretooth II was a hilarious character... one of the most "hung" 90's action figures. Was sooooo funny. All other male characters were "smooth" 'cept the Tooth, who was VERY "happy" during the sculpting phase.
