So, on the heels of the new MU Giant-Size X-Men box set, anyone remember the Toy Biz version? I guess the new set is perfect in that you get the six characters from the cover, but back then I was stoaked to get Banshee and Sunfire. I think they understood back then that most of us already had a Cyclops and Wolverine figure (or seven). Oh, and Shin, about the 10 inchers I remember having the Jim Lee Cyclops and tiger stripe Wolverine. They were totally just scaled-up versions of the 5" with maybe a bit less articulation/action features. (ex: Cyclops had no light-up visor, Wolvie didn't have the lame spring-out claws) But they were great representations of the molds, just at a sexy 10 inch scale. |

I loved all those 5" figures. Still trying to fill out the rest of the collection of them. Marveltoys.net has quite a few pics of all the old 5" figures. |

I forgot about 10" Apocalypse. I gave mine to my sister when i moved into the dorm and she put it with her Barbies. Nothing's cuter than a 4 year-old girl posing an Apocalypse doll and saying, "I'm Barbie's friend and I'm going to kill her."

Resurrecting this thread for awesomeness. I just got back into these guys after finding my old bin of them. Some of the size discrepancies aren't TOO bad. I really love the first Wolverine figure. I thought his claws and gimmick are the best of all of them. Some people said that Wolverine II was really hard to find, but I never had a problem finding him. Wolverine III,the maskless blue/yellow version, was INCREDIBLY rare, at least in my area, and notorious for it at that. I just recently passed on one because I guess it was a version that had the same legs as Wolverine II, and it just looked weird. Thought that figure was supposed to have its own legs(without the flared boot tops). Also, Nimrod is my favorite figure. It's not even the well-recognized 80s Nimrod, but I love the look of it. |

I know it's an old thread but since Robowang bumped it and it brought back a lot of nostalgia I figured I'd reply to a few posts. Quote: Quote: Quote: Resurrecting this thread for awesomeness. They were small 2 inch or so sized figs that were all metal. Of the 5" figs I think some my faves were Light up Nightcrawler, Cyclops II, Deathbird, Mystique, Apocalypse II, Robot Fighters Storm, and the Canadian exclusive mohawk Storm, AoA Iceman, and blue uniform Angel. Hmm, the more I think about it the more figs I could probably list. |

I believe that was a Marvel Legend. (No less valid to the subject of the thread though)

I could be wrong, but I do not recall as much. Beast got a couple releases, but not many.

I don't remember him having a labcoat but there was a pretty decent Beast that was released. He looked even better once I got the huge bandolier off of him.

There wasn't one with a labcoat, but there were two different spandex outfits in addition to the first release (Underwear Beast!).

I own so many. I definitely own every female x-men and Jean Grey to date. My favorite was the Phoenix Jean, and the domino repaint.

For the life of me I had so many X-Men toys back in the day I can't even remember them all but one of my favorites was this Cyclops. Loved his light up visor. I surprisingly still have it and he still lights up. |

I loved the Bishop toy with the two guns and I was so excited to get that 5' battle ravaged wolverine. I never ever found a Rogue or Phoenix and I wanted them so bad. I did love my Mr Sinister but I remember losing him and getting another one that had a goatee. Can't forget Deadpool 2 either with the removable mask

				 | Quote: Bishop is another beauty. I just found a Brown Holster Forge at the Antique mall MOC, in great shape for $10. I was excited as hell. I've been looking for nearly 20 years. I hate buying stuff like that online if I don't have to. The thrill of the hunt is still alive!!!! Last edited by Byrnes; 02-12-2013 at 02:51 PM.. |

Back then I didn't think anything of it but nowadays yeah he's kind of chunky. More than likely because of the light-up feature.

These figures were/are fantastic!! The cartoon was fun the comic was superb. The number of characters in the toy line was as close to the feelings I have when buying gijoes as I can get with another line. Still remember those days Go to walmart buy an evil mutant and a mutant hero, then read there adventures in a comic that same day then wake up sat. morning for a action packed-soap opera- like 'toon!! Love this toy line!! |
